NU SD Cohort 41

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have searched for a thread about NU SD's cohort 41 that is supposed to be starting January 2015. I am going to be applying next week after I attend the pre-nursing forum on Tuesday, the 15th. My goal is to get into the ABSN program as I already have a bachelors degree. I understand thought that the number of spots in the cohort is for both the general BSN and the ABSN groups. I am curious to see what other peoples stats are that are going to be, or already have applied for this cohort. I am so nervous because I knpow a lot of people apply and there are only about 50 spots available. I havn't taken the TEAS yet or the essay exam part. I have a 3.5 GPA, so I'm hoping I can kick butt on the TEAS and essay!

Jessy, do you know if they are making accommodations for her since FA isn't caught up or is it all coming out of pocket until they get it together?

Im actually not sure. I had FA not catch up in time for me while I was taking some of the prereqs at NU and basically they told me that my balance would show as outstanding, but it was ok because it would be paid off once my FA kicked in. So I'm guessing thats how its working for her now since I would imagine not many people can afford to just pay out of pocket while they wait for FA. I think as long as you have applied and it's pending you can just take classes and wait for it. But again, I'm not positive.

I have lost hope for the day today. :-(

I know the number I was given as well as the email address is a lost cause - perhaps a few more hours though someone should have heard something by now :(

This is so messed up and so unacceptable

Maybe my December 11 wasn't too far off.

Results are up!!!!!!!!!

Yup just got the email. Ugh oh. I'm too nervous to check!

I got accepted!!!!

Me too!!! Congrats!

yup I didn't get any email but status says denied so depressed now but goodluck to you all

Congrats, see you at orientation. Have a ton to do!!

Hi everyone. I'm from cohort 39 and I heard you guys find out your results today. I have a friend who applied to this cohort and apparently NU has been making a lot of changes to the nursing program that she was not aware of and I'm sure if she wasn't aware of these changes, many of you guys were not as well. Out of respect for all of you who applied I thought I'd anonymously fill you guys in on what they probably haven't told you. Starting with cohort 41, NU has decided to accept only 20 new applicants as opposed to 50. The reason being is that they will be saving 30 spots for those already in the program who need to retake a course. My friend was not aware of this change and I think it's very unfair that did not notify her of this and after this long wait with no updates she found out she was denied. Also, NU notified applicants who got accepted a while ago. I know this because another friend of mine who applied to cohort 41 got her acceptance letter 3 weeks ago. I don't know what kind of games NU is playing but this is absolutely unacceptable and if you guys were unaware of what was going on as well I suggest you say something to the admissions department.
