NSLIJ Critical Care Fellowship October 2013

U.S.A. New York

So North Shore has posted two fellowships in their careers section. Thought I'd start a thread to see who else has applied and if anyone has heard back. :nurse::geek::up:

Can you guys still edit your application on the website?

No, it didn't allow me to edit my application anymore. Now, I can only either view submission or withdraw my application.

I can't find it posted?

Hey everyone,

There are postings for the Emergency Department Fellowship on North Shore-LIJ Health System Careers | Committed to Transforming Patient Care if you're interested!!

Thanks for the heads up!

Also, when I click on view submission for the critical care fellowships...where you add your resume etc. next to my resume file it says relevant file: NO

Is that happening to anyone else? The only ones that say YES are 2 of my recommendation letters.. I called about this and they told me not to pay attention to it... but I was wondering if everyone else was experiencing the same thing.

Thanks!

Woops sorry forgot to mention LIJ at New Hyde Park is up as well

Hello all, someone had asked if we hear back whether we get accepted or not. I called again yesterday, I'm pretty much harassing these people, and they told me that we do hear back whether it is a yes or a no.

Do you guys really think the Lenox Hill ED fellowship is going to start in October? Seems like a really short time to go through the interview process if they just put it up yesterday.

Thanks for the heads up!

Hey Laura,

My cover letter, resume, and letters of recommendation all say "YES" under the relevant files. And thanks for the reply in regards to whether we hear back from HR. You must have great luck with HR because I tried calling yesterday and the person I spoke to told me they can not divulge any information about the status of the process. I thought we would hear back this week since it said that the fellowship is for October 2013. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to ask you all that are going through the process of trying to get into the residency program, do you have a BSN or ADN? Also, what was the interview process like?

I work at another hospital very close to Lennox Hill, and I was not selected for their residency starting in October because I was so nervous that I didn't do well on the interview :( The fact that I worked at the hospital was the only reason I even landed an interview without having a BSN. I am 6 months shy of getting my BSN, and have had no luck even getting called for interviews other than the hospital I currently work for, which is why I'm asking. It seems like no one is interested in you unless you have a BSN and some kind of patient care experience (my only experience is working for a physician within the hospital in a clerical position).

Thanks in advance! Any insight would really help.

Thank you pkthai!

When I saw that my resume says "relevant file:NO" I of course called the nursing recruiter to ask if that meant anything. They told me that it is something that the people reviewing our files use and to not think anything of it. Now I'm wondering if it's a bad thing... I am taking the NCLEX this Thursday so I am extremely nervous and hope that I pass! I also asked if having a BSN but not having your license yet affects your acceptance into the fellowship if you are planning to take the NCLEX before you begin, and they also said that it doesn't. I'm going to upload my cover letter today although everything else I add just ends up saying "relevant file: NO". Hopefully we will hear back soon.

To NurseKNYC:

I just graduated with a BSN in August and I am going to take the NCLEX this thursday. I do not have any direct care experience other than clinicals and my previous job experience is as an executive nursing secretary at a nursing home (which I'm pretty sure doesn't help my chances) I did not hear back at all but since they said they would let us know whether we were accepted or not I'm just waiting patiently to get a response.

hope that helps!

Hi everyone, I have a BSN and passed the nclex last month. Much like the post above my only job experience is as an administrative assistant in a medical facility.
