NSC SPRING 2018 hopefuls

U.S.A. Nevada

Hi guys, I'm currently finishing up my prerequisites at CSN and some at NSC in the summer and fall to apply for the nursing program in spring 2018 if not summer 2018. During the summer I will take chem 112 at nsc for the first session and on the second session I will take span 111 with medical terminology. During the fall I plan to take Pathophysiology with Nutrition both at NSC. Do you guys think it's doable to take patho with nutrition because it seems that everyone has been telling me that patho is difficult already by itself. But then again I took my AP 2 with Micro along with 2 other electives before. So I'm not really sure if I should just take nutrition with chem 112 during the summer or just wait to take it with patho in the fall session? Any advice from former graduates or current students that are applying to the NSC program would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance!

Hmmm I hope they won't let me retake it because I made sure that Hit117B is the equivalent of their Nurs 140. Oh and thats what im taking right now im almost done with it too But ill give them a call again just to confirm. When did you learn that information?

I just happened to be reading your post, and I saw that you were taking csn HIT 117, I took that as well, but still had to take Nurs. 140, I just wanted you to be aware of it. Maybe it changed, but I just looked at their web page and it still says that( HIT 117B-Medical Terminology I from CSN does not count as a previously completed course). Just trying to help, so you aren't missing any classes when you apply. Let me know if I am wrong please : )

Oh nvm, sorry I got confused with the numbers. I just checked on canvas and it actually shows HIT 118B (Language of Medicine) is the class that I am currently taking, at first HIT 117B was the class that I registered for but they actually advised me to take HIT118B instead since that's the equivalent of their NURS 140.

Thanks for the concern though! Appreciate it!

Glad you were ok, I know how it feels to take a class and then find out it does not transfer. I took HIT 117B a few years ago for the CSN program, but when I decided to go to NSC for my BSN instead I had to take Nurs. 140 because HIT 117B did not transfer, did not want to see anyone else have to do that. Glad it worked out : )

Do any of you guys know how the accelerated 2018 program schedules run? I.E. are the classed normal length? Say I start in May 2018 for the summer start, when are those set of classes finished? and when do they resume? August 2018?

I am trying to figure out if I should apply this September 2017 for full time spring start or hold off until January and apply for accelerated summer start!

Hi Montenegro26 were you able to find the answer to your question? I am wondering how the schedules are and cannot find any information.
