Nursing Students Ohio University

Starting Monday 6-17. Anyone else taking this?

@focusedRN... I just finished Assessment with the first summer session. I did not think the class was difficult, but it was REALLY, REALLY, time consuming. I spent a lot of time each week typing out physical assessments, along with doing discussion boards, and assignments related to teaching plans. Plus, weeks 2, 4, 5 had HESI case study tests that you have to complete. I am taking Business Communication at the same time, but that class is spread out over 15 weeks. There is no way I could have taken Assessment and another nursing class. Hope that helps.

Assessment is not hard but very time consuming. I spent 25 hours one week typing up an assessment. Diversity was your usual discussion board posts, reply to discussion board and a paper every week. Of course, all of that was scrutinized for APA format.

Thank you woodsyny, julesm76, and houseboatnurse, for the information! I will be changing my schedule around...

any thoughts about assessment and music?

Thanks. I am looking forward to being done. Music was by far the easiest class I have taken, as well as the most enjoyable. It was a welcome break from the DB posts and papers. You have to read the book, listen to the music, and take a weekly test. If I remember correctly, however, you get multiple attempts on the tests. I agree with everyone else regarding Assessment...very time consuming.

Thanks for your input!

Assessment is very time consuming! I took that course with Family...busy busy busy indeed.

all u really need for week 4 quiz is the study guide 30/30

Were there proctored exams for music? The only classes I have left are 4600 and Music (ugh!!!). I'm pregnant and due at the beginning of September and I am trying to decide if I want to try and take music in the fall. It's 15 weeks and basically the last class I need to take, I reaaaaallllly don't want to have to wait to take it in the winter. I am just ready to have my degree already! But I don't know if it's insane to try and take care of a newborn and take this music class (I'll wait till the 3rd session to take 4600)

ETA: I just checked the fall schedule and I'm not seeing music as an option, just the intro to arts. Hmmm

Specializes in ICU,ER, Radiology, Online education.

RNinC I am going to take music at edukan semester break in December at Edukan 4 weeks.
