I made mistake over 10 years ago when I was in the Air Force. I was going through training to be a Cardiopulmonary Technician and long before graduating and actually providing health care I got in trouble. Long story short I was put into the National Practitioners Data Bank. The report says "unable to practice safely by reason of alcohol or other substance abuse."
I was young and stupid. I am now a successful manager in accounting who is married with a family and considering a change to nursing because I feel like I would love to do it. Will this report eliminate me from getting into schools or jobs?

I would talk to your State BON. It is smart to ask questions before you spend the $$$ going to nursing school.
