Question- I'm starting an NP program soon and one of the requirements is to get Student NP Liability Insurance before I can even register for my 1st class. I'm just confused as to why I need it now if I don't start clinicals until a year from now (May 2021)...is everyone else who's starting an NP program needing this upfront?

My school provided the insurance as part of the costs to attend, but I also wondered why I needed the flu vaccine before starting when clinicals weren't starting for another year. Maybe a regulatory thing...who knows. ?

Yes- that's the other thing...I had to do the flu vaccine too- it was fine though as I needed one anyway, but I'll still need another one prior to clinicals.

That's how I thought it should be- logical to me. I ended up having to shell out $350 for it for this year and not even touching a patient. Just ludicrous.
