NP Program UBC/UVIC

Published

I'm not sure if a forum has already been started for applicants for the September 2021 intake but I'm here to kick it off. Is anyone else biting their nails hoping for an interview with UBC or UVIC?

@ptRN28 Mind did too this morning :)

Have you guys done your Stats and Indigenous safety training?

Not yet, I’m waiting for an official acceptance before taking the courses since they cost quite a bit. I’m also a bit confused as to what “recommended by department” means ?

@Capri58 I already completed the PSHA Indigenous Cultural Safety Training and currently re-doing the STAT through TRU.

Mines changed too. not sure if that's for a seat or the waitlist.

Has anyone received an acceptance letter? I’m refreshing my email like mad!

What does everyone think about UBC vs UVic for the NP Program? I like that U Vic is all online because UBC is far from my place in Vancouver. But maybe UBC is the better school overall?

For anyone interested I made a facebook group for the UBC intake, it’s called “UBC NP September 2021 Intake” ? though it would be helpful to share resources/potentially have a socially distanced meet and greet later on!

Specializes in NICU ?.

Great, thank you!! That's a good idea. I did hear that we will have in-person classes in September, but who knows. I would be down for a zoom meet and greet LOL

Specializes in Primary care, public health.

That’s awesome! I will join the fb group in a bit! Same here, I would be down for a zoom meet & greet ??

For Team UVIC,

my colleague who go an interview did NOT have her status changed, and is “still under review.”

Taking this evidence into account, I am under the impression that those shortlisted and have seen changes to “recommended by department,” will be receiving acceptance offers....
***he said more with hopeful wonder and less with factual conviction***

Congrats again to the UBC future NP’s and still wishing all the luck on the world to the UVIC hopefuls.

For those who are still waiting, I was told that the department has not finished their evaluations yet. If it says "under review by the department", it basically means that your application has not been completely evaluated.
