  1. In third year, 88 and in fourth year, 91. Oh that’s really interesting! I’m sure it would, as you would be familiar with principles of diagnosing and prescribing. I’d say go for it, and emphasize how your past optometrist experience would aid your ability to be an excellent NP ?
  2. I actually applied a few years ago to UVic after two years of nursing and got in after being waitlisted (they initially said I had a good application but wanted to see more experience). But I ultimately decided to pursue ICU instead after a lot of reflecting and feeling that I wasn’t ready for it at that time. However, that’s my own experience. If you have the grades and the desire to pursue this path, it’s worth applying and seeing what happens. I’d recommend bolstering your application with volunteer/research/leadership experience (for example, if there’s a fall prevention committee on your unit or something).
  3. Hi, I’ve been a nurse for 5 years with two and a half years in ICU and two in med/surg, and the last few months in interventional radiology:)
  4. For anyone interested I made a facebook group for the UBC intake, it’s called “UBC NP September 2021 Intake” ? though it would be helpful to share resources/potentially have a socially distanced meet and greet later on!
  5. Heard back from UBC earlier today and I’m accepted as well! ? Good luck to everyone!
  6. Congrats!! Yeah, UBC said they’d let us know this week if accepted
  7. I interviewed last week and got an email today asking for my transcript from BCIT (critical care program) but that’s all so far
  8. Thanks so much for the update & for reaching out to UBC! It’s nice to know at least a little bit of a timeline
  9. I haven’t heard anything yet!
  10. Also applied to UBC and nervously waiting! V happy I found this thread
