Hello!
My undergrad gpa (bachelor's degree) is a 2.7.
Does anyone know of any NP programs that will admit with that gpa?
Thank you!

Look deep within first. Ask yourself: Why do you want to become an NP? What do want to learn? How do you learn? What are going to do with it?
Don't concern yourself with GPA now. Seek schools that meet your needs.

Hello. Have you applied to an NP program yet? Did they recommend taking extra courses? I'm also having a gpa setback.
I applied, was denied, wrote an appeal letter and was admitted!
Congratulations!! May I ask which courses you took?
Good luck with the program :)
I didn't take any courses. Just applied and then wrote an appeal letter.

I understand the need to admit fully qualified people to a program. You want nurses that will do well in studies and pass any applicable certification tests the first time around. But, if your BSN is over ten years old, I don't think a program should hold a low GPA against you especially if you have remained in nursing and have grown in your practice. This is evidenced by supportive managers, supervisors, and directors as well as the ability to obtain certifications.

Wow. I'm not sure where a lot of you all went to school, but I am in the same dilemma. In my undergraduate coursework before I switched to Nursing, my GPA was a 3.8. The Nursing program I went to had a different grading system than most universities, and as a result, even getting what would be considered B's and A's at a normal University, my GPA with this program was a 2.8. I never got a grade less than 80 in a course, passed NCLEX in 75 questions, have my CCRN and CEN... so it's not that simple. I would love to become an NP and have been approached by multiple physicians asking why I have not already.

Am I the only one who finds this unfortunate?
