Any NPs here in pain management? I am a new grad FNP with a specialty in ortho. Any thoughts or experiences in this field? It seems like this field has many benefits in the long run.

As a new FNP, that is the last field I would want to be heading toward. But that's just me wanting to keep my license far from the list of top opiate prescribers in the state.

I apologize if I'm being dense today but you are looking at an ortho practice managing pain?
Or strictly a pain management position? If this is the case:
1. Is it strictly a pain clinic?
2. Do they have a multidisciplinary approach? ie anesthesia for blocks, social workers, counselors or is strictly giving out narcs?
3. Will you see pts in the hospital or only outpt? In the large hospital I worked with, they had a pain management team that were consulted just like neuro or cards.

is it a perc bus or actual legit pain management practice ?
Seems like a legit place and not a pill mill. I'll have the opportunity to do procedures such as nerve and joint injections. I feel like this place is very similar to my orthopedic rotation in sports medicine when I was in NP school. I don't know, maybe I'm just too green.
