NP licensure in multiple states?

Hi All,

I'm an FNP student considering moving to the Northeast, rural Mass/Vermont, and there may be multiple job opportunities across state lines. Given that Vermont and Massachusetts have slightly different practice laws, is it possible to be licensed and prescribing in both states?

I came across your post and have a question for you guys, anyone here has experience transferring NJ Psych NP license to NY? I am currently a FNP licenses in NY, want to go back for psych np and since I live in NJ I thought I'd do my clinicals in NJ. The school I am considering is accepted by NJ but "blocked" by NY, meaning I can't do my clinicals in NY (which is not a problem). However, does that also mean I can't transfer my license later on and I'd be stuck to working only in NJ?

Thanks!

Did you end up sorting out if you would be able to transfer to NY while completing clinical in NJ?

I ask because I was wondering the same.

Thank you.

To spiritsoul - this is an older post. Looks like that previous poster has not visited again since posting 1/2018.

I am planning to move to Colorado but I am licensed FNP in Virginia, has been practicing only for 1 year. Is it possible to get Colorado endorsement? I read somewhere that I have to practice for at least 2 years before I can apply for Colorado license. Thanks.

An advanced practice nurse can be endorsed into Colorado if he or she 1) is credentialed in another state and has practiced at least two of the prior five years or 2) has a graduate degree and holds national certification.
