Tweety hope the air conditioner is working right

Ado and NJ22 thanks for sharing the photos

Hi Dianah

Stars glad they gave you the discount

Work was good yesterday, no new cases, bunch of emails to deal with early on but the rest of the day was fine.  Hoping for the same today

After work decided to go an walk around the nearby downtown.  Hadn't done so in quite some time, and I figured it would be quieter since it was Halloween.  Was nice, remembered some of the places J and I used to go together

Rest of the night was quiet, watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and a short video on the making of it.  Surprisingly even after A Charlie Brown Christmas was a hit, the studio executives said if this one wasn't a hit as well they'd probably give up on trying to animate Peanuts

Things are the same with dad, they weren't able to do the transesophageal ultrasound yesterday.  Hoepfully they'll be able to do it today, otherwise it'll be delayed until Mon.

Nothing much going on tonight, will drop by dad's to pick up the mail and newspapers

Going to be cooler today, in the mid 50s

Ya know what I miss? Stationery Stores! Just came to me yesterday how my mother and I used to go to a stationery store and practically drool over all the notebooks and pads of paper and PENS, oh the # and brands of pens! But STAPLES office supplies is not the same. Oh well!

So, this morning's wake up song was just as weird as some of the other ones.....It was by Fabian: "Goodbye Cruel World, I'm off to join the circus; Gonna be a broken-hearted clown; Let the people point at me and stare, shoot me out of a cannon, I don't care. I'm gonna tell that woman, wherever she may be, that mean, sick woman made a cryin' clown outta of me." ......I dunno, my brain comes up with an odd, free-wandering memory that just pops up. At least it's entertaining....but FABIAN?🤔 🤨 REALLY?? 😂 🤣

BiL is outside doing the final messing around with the new roof over the patio, securing the legs to the cement.  I told him I could not get the electric fireplace to work, and I had tried different extension cords, and even a power strip, but no 'flames'. Well, DUH, the power strip has an on-off switch, and that's all that was wrong.  Smaller plugs are a bit wobbly in the outlet and won't connect well.. The power strip has a bigger plug which fits the outlet better. So, VOILA! Now it works again! Not that we will need the fireplace today, because it is still summertime here, at 80 degrees, Supposedly the 'colder' temps (low 70's/high 60's) will come over the weekend? The weather-man has been waiting for temps in the 50's or lower, so he could go on a hay-ride. He says, "It is supposed to be November, not summertime!"  Too bad!

Momo is staying up in bed, I don't know why! Possibly a ladybug I found was flying around the den. Poor Momo. The ladybug is gone now, but she is still staying up in the bed, under the covers!

I want to go out and search for a few items, and I can't remember which store I bought them at. Maybe Harris-Teeter? But I would have to load Nannie in the car and drag her along. SiL will take her into a store, but I don't want to do that. If she uses the walker (rollator) she gets way ahead of the person pushing the cart, or you have to let her sit on the walker's seat and push her, which is awkward at best. So, maybe I'll go and maybe I won't. I don't know when my next "day" ( a 4 hour-long day. Huh.) "OFF" will be, so who knows when I can cross off some of the things on my list. Phooey!

I noticed the other day that it is harder to find Capsaicin anything. Now it is all Lidocaine, which is OK, but sometimes the capsaicin cream or stick-on pads work better than the Lidocaine. The world goes on without me, I reckon. My mother told me a long time ago, if you find a product that you really, really like, get several, because one of these days it will be discontinued. And she was right! But I did find a tube of Capsaicin cream this morning, which I liberally applied to both knees and my left shoulder.

Spell-check is a sick puppy. When I re-read my post I find the oddest words it has decided I meant to type, which are, naturally, wrong. In the paragraph above the word 'liberally' was changed to 'literally'. Not QUITE the same thing!

Okay, time to go get Nannie out of the bed. ( 9 hours until her bedtime, I measure my days by how long I have to deal with her.) She won't doze off if BiL is still puttering around out on the patio. She will ask me, and then a few minutes later, EXPLAIN to me what he is doing, her explanations to me are quite different from what is actually going on. And bless her heart, she never remembers who BiL is (her second son!) so when I tell her, she looks puzzled and says, "I didn't know that!" Her brain cells and her synapses are disintegrating ... quickly, but sooooo slowly, too. People tell me that it signals she is getting closer to "the end", but I won't believe it until I see it.

Anyway, tra-la-la, on with my chores!

YUP, I took Nannie on my errands run.....to the bank, to the phone store, and then to Harris-Teeter, where I managed to get EVERYTHING on my little list, and didn't have to spend a long time doing so. Nannie says she doesn't mind just sitting in the car. Good thing!

Now it is time to prepare some supper; maybe something very easy-peasy for Nannie, and whatever I decide to fix for me, whenever I decide I am hungry, later on.

Tomorrow night we turn the clocks back and hour. I wish they'd quit doing that. It messes up Momo's sense of time, especially bedtime. About 9:50 PM she starts getting restless and pestering me, like, "Isn't it time for us to go upstairs?" But I always have to put Nannie to bed first......which will happen in a little over 4 hours. Time zones, can't live with 'em, but ain't allowed to live without 'em.....yet. "They" need to just pick a time and STAY with it!

G'day.

Was in charge with a one-patient assignment as one of our rooms is blocked for repairs.  Wasn't too bad of a day.

Rebooting the thermostat worked and it's working today.  Yay!  It's still warm in the afternoons here.

Off tomorrow but working the floor Sunday so I can have a day off during the week.

Stars, that's a drama drama story from the CG!

I voted. Took 1.5 hrs to get through the line but since I'm flying to Charleston on Tuesday I needed to get it done. Put gas in the car, picked up a grocery order, yada yada.  I'm feeling pretty sleepy so will read until I conk out.

We will allegedly get 6-10" of rain starting tomorrow afternoon. Hoping for no flooding problems at the hospital.

Joe, thats interesting about Charlie Brown. If you ever get to Santa Rosa, CA, you should visit the Charles M. Schultz Museum. Every exhibit makes you smile. In fact, the whole town of Santa Rosa is lovely. We have been there twice.

Stars, how odd that cg chooses to share all that with you.

It's been a blah day. We had a few trick-or-treaters last night. There is too much candy left over. I hope ds will take it to work with him. It's been raining all day, and the dogs are not happy. They will go out, but not for long, but they have been chewing on things they shouldn't. They've been getting paper out of the basket for recycle and chewing and scattering it. They chewed 2 holes in one of their beds. A piece of parmesan cheese fell out of the fridge and the little dog grabbed it in a flash and took off. She did not want to give it up. I picked up all the toys to vacuum, and they just kept spreading them out and getting more paper to chew. Grrrr.

I went down to the gym to get a membership and it wasn't staffed today. And my car battery was dead. I will put the charger on it tomorrow if the rain stops. Sigh. I was going to make another cookie recipe. Dh went to the store to get a missing ingredient and didn't get home until 8 pm. Sigh, maybe tomorrow.

At least voting is done. We have all mail-in/drop-off voting here. I dropped mine off last Friday, and on Monday it was recorded as accepted. Yay.
