November, Nclex Fast Review

Hi to everyone.. Just wanna ask anybody who knows any Review Center in Manila that are giving Fast review. I am outside the Philippine right now, But I will be coming home Last week of October, I want to attend Fast Review, like 3 weeks before the date of my exam, which will be on November 27, Hongkong, is there anybody who will also take in this date? Which review center you are in, please give me an Idea where I can join a FAST Coaching review session and any useful, NCLEX review book you can suggest?Thanks and Gudluck to all... email me

At this point, I would highly recommend that you do not touch a review center at this time abd do the preparation on your own. There is now a major number of facilities inthe US that will not even consider hiring a nurse that went thru some of thoise programs.

I would seriously rethink what you want to do, especially if your goal is to work in the US.

hello suzanne4...im just a bit curious...what do u mean when you said "a number of facilities in the US would not even consider hiring a nurse that went thru these programs?" Are you saying that US employers are even looking where we took our review for the nclex? im only asking so i can share with friends who are thinking of shelling out money for review centers in the coming months...

im planning to review on my own to save my money. Ill be buying the saunders book as you recommended in many threads...and if i have extra cash im also thinking of buying kaplan books, i saw two of their reviewers in a local bookstore here... im currently working now to finance my nclex fees and expenses so i dont have time to sit on a formal review...i really find your inputs valuable...very informative and make a lot of sense too...

Yes, they are looking and also paying attention to when the local exam was taken.

Save your money and get only the Saunder's book. Combining any of the authors only leads to issues with explanations of rationales. Saunder's have given me the best luck in teaching nurses whose primary language is not English, and they have all passed the first time.

And if anyone considers a review center there, please make sure that the nurse teaching actually holds a license in the US to practice nursing in good standing and that they in fact really have had a license over here. There are several that have not.

Hey Suzanne, just out of curiosity nothing more, how come US are evaluating where the nurses took their review? it's just a review class right? why does it matter if it's license in the US?

The issue is because of the fiasco going on right now in the Philippines with the exam that was just taken in June, 2006. Questions were leaked, so essentially the exam is becoming invalid, or? Because of this, there are issues with any that took the recent exam, as there is no date if and when licenses will be issued based on that. As well as one review center violating US Copyright Law by allegedly having students give them questions with the choice of answers after they leave the CGFNS exam, as well as the NCLEX-RN exam in Hong Kong.

This is enough to get anyone's hair grey and quickly. So that is why it is being followed very closely right now. The facilities that I am very familiar with her, will not even consider a nurse that just took the local exam, or went thru one of those review programs.

To prohibit any further postings about the local exam, this thread is closed, but that is the current information. Also the lecturers at some of the programs have had their licenses reviked in the US, scared to even think why. But they are back in Manila teaching as if nothing ever happened.
