Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN?

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if there is anyone who has applied to NSU's Entry Level BSN program RECENTLY and got in. I want to apply for Fall 2013's program. What was your GPA when you applied, how hard was it do you think to get in overall, just any personal experiences with your application journey.

I have a 3.691 currently and have taken Anatomy 1 & 2 with labs and got A's. Now I'm taking Microbiology and getting a B currently, will I be okay? Still have Chemistry and Human Growth and Dev. to take in the spring.

Thanks everyone in advance! :)

I have my interview at Kendall campus in an hour! I'm so nervous. ?

Good luck! I have mine at 3:30 at the main campus.

Guys how did it go?!?!!

It went well! Same as other forums stated (group interview, writing sample, tour). Just nervous and want to know if I got in. I think the only thing that'll be my disadvantage is that I have prereqs still in progress.

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum. @jcpr1988, what did the interview consist of?! Was it nerve-racking or what!? Lol.

I plan on applying to NSU after this summer for the Nursing program starting Jan 2014. I still have a few classes I need to complete. I'm going Thursday for a tour and presentation but I'm concerned because right now I'm at BC and I'm afraid my credits won't transfer over. Do any of you know anything about this? Also, do any of you know the average GPA in which they accept applicants? I'm also afraid my cum. GPA won't be good enough although my pre-req GPA is about a 3.6 right now and that's not with the classes I have to take during summer and am currently in. Do they consider the GPA of other courses which aren't required? I'm also applying to BC's program but I want more than ever to be in Nova's! Please let me know of anything that will help me! Lol thank you all! Good luck everyone, happy studies!

Hello, i also had my interview today.. i was really nervous and yes it was a group interview. Im not sure about the answer i gave im a bit nervous about it. but i cant wait till i get a reply from them stating what my admission decision will be. Im sure theyll probably tell us with in a month, idk if they will make us wait until after april 1st.

Well good luck to you!!! And jcpr as well. I'm sure you both did wonderful!

@Jen, it was extremely nerve wracking! Lol. It went by extremely quick though. It was a group of us 5 and a panel of nursing staff. We were each asked a random questiom (if you were a flower, which would you be and why; fictional character, etc), then you have a small writing ample (1 paragraph), then you go on a tour. You're out of there in an hour, tops. As far as your credits go, I go to BC and they didn't have any issues with the classes from there. I have a 3.2 overall (pretty low) and a 3.7 prereq gpa. So, you should be fine.

Ok, I seriously would not know how to describe myself as a fictional character or a flower. I wonder if they ask the same questions all the time. GOSH. I'm scared. Thanks so much for your input, though. Glad to hear you made it out alive, lol. My overall GPA is 3.2 as well right now. I wonder if that matters as much as the required pre req gpa. Like english, stats, A&P, all those. I sure hope not. Also, is human growth and development a psych class? Because I took "developmental psychology" I hope that's the same thing :x3:

And do you know if chm1032 is an okay chemistry to be considered? It's a chemistry for health careers or something along those lines. I guess these are all questions I can ask on Thursday when I go for the tour and presentation. But asking someone who knows first hand how I feel (and went to Broward) is definitely more settling :) One last thing, is ethics considered humanities, do you know? I'm full of questions and concerns! I just recently decided to apply to Nova. Before, BC was the only school I was going to apply to. Did you apply there as well? WELL anyways, best of luck to you! Let us all know if you get accepted!!! (and maybe you have a few answers to my questions :wacky:)

Lol. No problem! Any way I can help. I was in your shoes once too. I took the same chem and its accepted. And the developmental psych is the human growth. I took it too and they accepted it. I believe ethics falls into humanities and a writing credit. As of right now, I only applied to Nova. If I don't get in, I'll apply to BC since I have their prereqs already (including the hcp). As far as gpa. They said both are really important. So, I'm sure my 3.7 prereq made up for the 3.2 overall. I'm taking microbio, nutrition and sociology right now. Nova considers students still enrolled in prereqs as long as they'refinished before the program starts.

Phew! Thanks again for responding. Some weight has been lifted :smug: I still have to take micro, stats, and sociology so I'll be doing that during summer. Do they require letters of recommendation? Correct me if I'm wrong... you have to write an essay and submit it with your application and then again a little paragraph during the interview? Also, I saw on the application something about high school honors which I do not have-- did you volunteer at all and put it on your app? I've been trying to get into Memorial for months now and they haven't had any volunteering positions available. I think i'm gonna go tomorrow and demand a spot! Lol :p

Just because I think it'll help me get accepted. But yeah I'm taking HCP, chem, APII and lab this semester and will apply to broward too just incase nova doesn't like me lol. I wonder when they'll let you know if you passed your interview portion and were accepted...

Although I'm sure you did ;)
