Nova Southeastern University Entry-level BSN Fall (August) 2015! (:

Published

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen a post about NSU's Entry-level BSN program for Fall 2015 so I decided to start one. If there is another thread that everyone else is on, please let me know! I double-checked to make sure there weren't any posts hiding but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I am waiting for my final transcripts to be sent to Nova. Other than that, now it's just the waiting game and I'm super anxious. They wont be calling people until Feb or March probably. I finished my AA with Broward College this December. I underestimated application deadlines and the application process to get everything together so unfortunately I will have a semester off from school.

I also applied to FAU's Traditional BSN program. I have a thread about that as well if you also applied to that school. You can jump over to that thread by clicking here

If all else fails I was thinking of just going back to Broward College, possibly their North campus.

If anyone has any stories or advice/knowledge about any of these programs, please share! If you're an applicant to NSU as well, good luck! Hope we get the responses that we want.

Hello nursenica,

congrats on your interview and hopefully future acceptance, you said you still taking some credits this semester, so it's possible to be chosen without finishing all your pre reqs?

As long as all your pre reqs will be completed once you begin the term you can br admitted.. I only had to take nutrition course. :) good luck everyone I feel alot more calm now.. just waiting it.out

That's great! Do you mind sharing what books you used to review for the exam?

I just reviewed anatomy and physiology online through youtube videos lol and there is a great forum on here with a list of videos and reviewed my reading and math and writing from kaplan study guide, and brushed up on grammar and writing skills through cliffnotes book on amazon :) good luck everyone im sure you will all do great

Hey girl! Congrats on everything! How much did you study for the Kaplan?

To be completly honest.. just this weekend :/. I should have studied more.. but honestly the reading and math was a breeze to me.. its very basic and math has always been my forte... as far as writing goes.. its basic grammar too.. finding errors in sentences.. the one that I feel is by far the hardest is the science but there is such a broad spectrum of the things you need to study that I basically was just clicking answers in the end cause I either knew the subject or didn't.. I studied only science I didnt feel the need to study math reading or writing.. but again thats just me..

Oh and just an FYI for everyone.. interviews will be going on till June.. so don't worry of you haven't received your call.. you should soon. For those applying at the main campus.. the sim lab and classrooms are smart so they are very high tech. I was impressed and got more eager and excited to start.. sorry I can't provide much more info on other campuses I am just familiar with the main one.

Ok, great! Thank you @nursetica!

Thank you NurseTica! It's such a relief to know that interviews will be going on through June. Co-workers were trying to calm me down at work today lol and told me they might have gone in alphabetical order (maybe, maybe not) or something but they told me that it takes a while nonetheless.

I really need to brush up on Math and Science. I'm assuming it was straight up Anatomy for the Science section? On the TEAS I took for FAU, it had every type of Science so it kind of threw me off guard lol.

The tour will be such a tease because I would get super excited but then I would feel stupid if I end up getting rejected BUT I just gotta stay positive about this!

Yes stay positive.. it was kinda a tease cause I wanted to start tomorrow taking classes lol. There was a cohort there in first semester and another cohort in second semester. The nursing bulding has the majority of the first floor set up like a hospital with beds and all.. it looks like a small er. Really great learning environment.. you just feel it. And we got to talk to the students there and they are very nice.. I mean everyone is.

Dontr stress too much on test. My advice is brush up on things you know you have trouble with. I wish I could tell you what to study for science but I feel like it was something from every system.. and by the time I got to the science questions and read the questions I was basically saying to myself I either know it or not. Don't stress too much. Hopefully you get your call soon. I was given two options for interview dates and I picked the earliest.. I figured might as well get it out of the way so do that.

Good luck im sure you'll get in.

Thank you again NurseTica! I'll do my best to stay positive and I'll definitely brush up on everything to make sure I'm prepared for that exam! Don't worry about being specific about the Anatomy section, I'm sure there was a lot of different sections they pulled questions from and I assume they have a question bank so it's never the same type of material all the time. That's how I felt when I took the TEAS, "either I know it or not" method took over towards the end lol. Ahh that sounds so exciting I can't wait to hopefully see it for myself!

Keep us posted on what they say (: 3-4 weeks sounds like forever lol we're always in suspense but since you chose the earliest time they should hopefully give you an earlier decision. I'm rooting for you!

I hope that all of us that have the interview March 5 on the Miami campus we end up on the same group, like that we at least know someone lol.

One last question I promise! lol. What did you wear to your interview?
