Nova Southeastern University BSN Entry Level Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

So I guess im the first to start the thread for Nova's Fall 2014 admissions. I put in my application about 2 weeks ago, and actually did my prereqs here as well. I am still in the process of completing Micro and A&P 2. I am VERY nervous about the admission process because my GPA is not as high as what im seeing on this site.

Thoughts?

Did anyone that was accepted receive their package yet? I got the final email last week but nothing yet. I also received a call from Kristen in Orlando about the Baptist scholarship, if I had applied though, I haven't received my package yet. I wasn't able to take the call, I called her back and left a message but haven't heard anything since last Friday.

Hi! I'm new here lol

okay so I got my acceptance email last week Wednesday, and I got both the phone call from Kristen and the package in the mail yesterday. I think if she still hasn't called you back, you should try calling her again before the end of the week.

@gui0312- If you leave her a message, it should be okay. She does checked them I've never been able to answer a call from her because I usually have the line full but I do leave voicemails. You should receive your package in a about a week hopefully. If not, call Nova and ask. She never called me back but every time I call her, it goes straight to voicemail. Doesn't hurt to keep trying though.

Thanks, I received a call back from her. On another note is anyone having issues logging in to their shark link account or performing the background check? I keep getting an invalid PIN. I contacted the background company they sent on the email but said I had to contact Nova because they don't handle their logins. I already contacted Nova and left a message for Andrea/Zach.

I've been accepted @ kendall campus as well; honestly, it's a great opportunity to get involve, learn from, gain experience and help my patients and their community. For those who are having issues with their mail... call help desk directly because the only way to fix or set up your password is calling this number (954) 262-4357.( it is easy and takes minutes...super fast). Now, the Immunization is taking me a little more, a friend recommend me to get immunity test and save me money and unnecessary vaccines... so I did. (For more info how and where you can get that test, leave me a message). If I can help with any other info, please let me know. By the way, the package takes like two weeks more or less... good luck everyone and I will see you peers in the orientation session for Kendall .

Kari.

I had an issue getting into Sharklink at the beginning but after countless efforts finally got in at one point. For the background check, it's separate from Sharklink. From your acceptance email, follow that link and you have to create an account with Certified Profile. As for Sharklink, go to forgot your password and it will come up and just send yourself the email. Also, do a Find my Pin and it will give it to you. Make sure you are putting in the right numbers and letters. That was my issue.

Hi everyone! I have my interview next Tuesday for the fall class. For all of you that have interviewed and taken the exam already, can you give me any tips as to what type of questions they ask in the interview? I'm so nervous!

Hi Brittney,

Don't stress too much. The interview is just a way for them to see who you are and why you want to become a nurse. I did mine in Fort Myers and they were very nice. Just be yourself and be honest. That will take you further than making some crazy story up. The interview for me lasted like 10 minutes. You generally know if you are accepted after the interview. As for the test, the science was the hardest for me. I did really well in Reading and Math. It is not a pass or fail, but more of what do you know. The average is like a 74 or 75. I did above that and they told me that I did very well. The essay question I received was about why I wanted to become a nurse. I was just honest with them and I was just myself.

Thank you! Hopefully I do ok, I'm just so nervous that I will blank out! I'll let you know afterwards (:Wish me luck!

Don't worry about the test as much, brittneyb. It isn't a pass or fail thing as mentioned above. Yes, the Science is difficult and I'm not there is an exact way to prepare for it but just do your best. If you know it, you know it. If you don't, it's okay. Just give it your best shot. For the Math, I suggest concentration on fractions to decimals, decimals to percents and vice versa. Reading is easy, just do it carefully in order to get best score possible. The interview is truly just for them to get to know you. They'll ask you questions as to why you want to be a nurse, what would you in a certain situation, what is the role of a nurse. Just 3-4 questions and then the essay portion. For me, my topic was how do you set priorities, and you have 5 minutes to put down the best answer you have in essay form. That's it. Nothing too intense. Just be confident and be yourself. Don't try or force anything. It will be a group interview and you will be working with someone to answer a couple of questions. It's best to get to know the people you will be with before the interview so everyone is comfortable. We were all friends by the end of the day.

Hey everyone!

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted! I had my interview last week Tuesday and I just received my acceptance today! I couldn't be any more excited! Good luck to the ones that have interviews!

Hi everyone. I got accepted into a nursing program at another college but I have a 2 year wait :( I was wondering how difficult it is to get accepted at NSU? I have taken the TEAS as an entrance exam and my GPA is a 3.3.
