Nova Southeastern University BSN Entry Level Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

So I guess im the first to start the thread for Nova's Fall 2014 admissions. I put in my application about 2 weeks ago, and actually did my prereqs here as well. I am still in the process of completing Micro and A&P 2. I am VERY nervous about the admission process because my GPA is not as high as what im seeing on this site.

Thoughts?

Congrats.... Anyone accepted at the Ft Lauderdale campus?

I have my interview on Monday. Did you get accepted there? Can you give me any guidance as to what to what topics to review for the Math section and anatomy.

I was accepted at the Fort Lauderdale campus. Congratulations on your acceptance!!!!

Yes yesterday

I got a call from someone yesterday asking if I had received my acceptance packet yet. I told them no so hopefully I will be getting it sometime next week. Thanks

Anatomy/Physiology and Math follow the Kaplan book. If you don't have it read your Anatomy/Physiology Book. Don't stress.. Presentation is everything.

I just received my acceptance package on Friday.. Be patient, it's on the way.

You seem to be the outlier when it comes to this. It seems most people in the group of Nova BSN threads have said the Kaplan book is horrible for the A&P portion of the test.

I don't believe the kaplan was helpful for the anatomy at all. It doesn't even go into specifics. Honestly the questions are so random that the best thing you can do is review your A&P book. The basics nothing in depth. The math on the kaplan book helps some. Good luck!

Figured I would post as I just got back from my interview/exam. The Kaplan book is goof for everything except the science. There was maybe one question in the science section that was in the Kaplan. Read your old notes/books and be strong on physiology.

Overall the day is fairly laid back. Essay which is simple and straightforward, group panel interview, a quick tour of the sim lab, lunch, and then the test.

For those that are curious here are my scores:

Reading: 95

Math: 89

Writing: 86

Science: 65 (not bad for still having to take Nova's five credit A&P this summer).

I will post when I find out if I get in or not. Any questions, with the exception of specifics on test questions, feel free to ask.

Hi, I recently interviewed at the Kendall campus and received an email about a week later from Andrea Alvarez (coordinator) stating my credits are being reviewed for transferability? If the pre-requisites are met we'd like to extend you an offer of acceptance to our Nursing program, Congratulations!... Though, this was almost two weeks ago and I haven't seen any update on the VIP page nor an email, or anything by mail. I have also tried contacting Andrea by phone and email numerous times and have not received a response.

Anyone have this sort of experience?

P.s. The only pre-req I was missing was Human Growth which I just finished now in Spring over at FIU. My stats were 3.8 Overall gpa, 4.0 Science gpa, 79 overall on Kaplan.

Thanks and congratulations to all those who were recently accepted.
