Nova Southeastern University BSN Entry Level Fall 2014

Published

Hi everyone!

So I guess im the first to start the thread for Nova's Fall 2014 admissions. I put in my application about 2 weeks ago, and actually did my prereqs here as well. I am still in the process of completing Micro and A&P 2. I am VERY nervous about the admission process because my GPA is not as high as what im seeing on this site.

Thoughts?

Hi I am new to this site and I was reading this forum for some answers in my situation. Mines is a lot like your considering I will be finishing in the summer 2015 and applying that fall. The classes I will be missing will be Statistics, a social science, and another elective for AA requirements. Do you think this will affect me in getting accepted?

Entry Level BSN Course Requirements | Nova Southeastern University Nursing

Here is the link to what you must have in order for your application to be considered. If you don't have exactly what they require for coursework, you will be denied because you can't take any pre reqs with your Nursing courses. You may be able to take a few final pre reqs the summer before you start but I'm not 100% sure about that. If you click on Admissions requirements, there will be more information there too.

Hi, I applied for NSU BSN winter program that begins in January. I have finished all pre reqs except for college algebra which i am currently taking. I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat or can share some information on anything they might know? As far as when we will find out about an interview or if anyone else is taking pre reqs. Thank you:yes:

I'm pretty sure u will get an interview. Last Fall I had micro, stats and college algebra in progress and I got an interview. It came around the 1st week/ 2 nd week of October

I wasn't that clear in my last post but as long as your courses are in progress and will be completed before the start of Nursing School, it is fine. Not everyone gets an interview so meeting their requirements is a must in terms of coursework. After you submit your application, it shouldn't be too long from when you receive the email of the interview. It should be 1-2 weeks and they usually take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays in the morning.

Thanks guys I actually got an interview email this morning I'm excited!! It's the 17th anyone know what I should expect and what to study for the Kaplan exam??

And if you don't mind me asking , were you admitted after your interview cause I'm worried they accept everyone who has all the prereqs already and then give a seat to the "leftovers"

@gianfranco...there are no leftovers with Nova. It's simply you were admitted or you weren't. Typically a few days or a week after your interview, you should know if you got accepted. They won't just accept you based on your prereqs. You must go through the interview and exam first.

For the day of your interview, you will be there the whole day. It will either start with a tour or the exam. You will take your exam, go to lunch for an hour and they will you for interview. Your interview will be in a group with 3-5 people on the panel. You will be asked to work with someone to answer the question and give your own input as well. It's not bad. Mainly why you want to be nurse, what that entails, etc. For the test, I can't really tell you to study one specific thing because it covers everything. For math, it's mainly decimals and fractions. For reading, it's pretty straightforward. Science is where it gets really difficult. It's all anatomy and physiology and it's tough to tell you one area to study because I truly felt like I was guessing or going with the best response. It's not a pass or fail exam. It's simply to see where you are.

Hey, I finished all my pre reqs as well and apply about 3 weeks ago. I received an invitation for an interview. They did encourage to apply as soon as you can, when I went to their open session.
