I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!
welp the chances aren't high for any nursing program...but the spots have to be filled! So stay positive....there were 550 applicants for another program I applied to-156 interviews (which I got :) ) but unfortunately only 27 spots for the program I wanted....
so today in the mail i got a letter from nova that basicly restated everything from the first email that said that they added interviews to the admissions process and to check my email to see when they'll send a date
i still havnt gotten the email to schedule my interview but i figure that if i wasnt going to get an interview and they werent considering my application then they wouldnt have sent that letter- it would prob be a rejection letter instead
so i wanted to share this with you guys to give those who havent gotten an interview yet..including myself lol... at least a small sense of hope

Lol I got the same letter too. My initial reaction was, "oh no! It's my rejection letter!" But with that said, I see your point of view and I'll stick with that thought as well lol
lol yeah i think we might be overreacting a bit guys because it does say in the course of several WEEKS we'll be invited for an interview
so i think we should all calm down...kick back..sip on some iced tea...focus on our finals/end of the semester projects...and just chill lol
but 900 applicants is a lot so since we havent been rejected(..yet lol) we can use this time to practice for our interviews to make sure they go well.my college offers mock interviews&interview training so im going to schedule an appointment with them.
I asked one of the Directors at Nova what the interview consists of and this is what he said "A few questions and a short writing sample. You should be fine........be yourself !!!!!!"
I don't mind about the questions, but I am going crazy about the writing sample :/ I wonder what it will be about!! Im just letting you all know though :)
i was reading one thread from 2009 which is the last year they had interviews and it said the writing sample topic was "write about the road signs that lead you to becoming a nurse" or something like that...and basicly you have 10 min to write it
but im guessing they most likely changed the topic
i got the interview letter in the mail yesterday and i got the same letter today again with an email. no interview date as of yet. i thought it was a rejection letter. my heart almost popped out of my chest.
Well I emailed ****** today and she said that we just need to go with our id and in the room are going to be 5 students.. the interview is a group interview so 5 people ... not one against 5 interviewers lol...

I actually email her and she writeback fast so that's exactly what she said . That's crazy ! What are the chances from 900
