Nova Entry Level BSN Winter 2017

Published

I know some people have already interviewed for Nova's nursing program starting in winter due to the fact that the fall is full... So, I started a new section! Good luck to everyone who has already interviewed and all that are still applying! Keep us updated!!

Did anyone buy their scrubs yet? If so, was there a website given by the school to purchase scrubs?

I just bought mine today! Here are the websites for scrubs/lab coat.

Yay I'm glad you got your pin!

do you receive the pin via email?

do you receive the pin via email?

Yes, they send you the pin through your email

Less than a month!! Anyone else as anxious as I am?

Also, I missed orientation. Can someone give me a brief summary of what they discussed?

hi, there. I just want to ask if anyone knows where to do the immunizations and physical exam. I found one clinic around my area, but it would be around $700. Please, if anyone knows a better and less expensive place... I will appreciate it so much.

Happy Holidays to all.

Do you have insurance? If not I would wait until the semester starts so you'd be covered under the schools insurance. I'd imagine it'd be cheaper when covered under the school.

Thank you "Cabralie" for your comment. It sounds good; I hope I can do that because paying $700 is a lot. I found another place in Plantation; it costs approximately $495.

As per the Orientation Day they explained how Nova started. They gave us a presentation about the history of Nova, about how to access SharkLink website, about different activities for students. They presented the Nursing Schedule (passing grade is 75). Ending the morning, the nursing students arrived (Student's Board) and presented their volunteer projects (at the end every student needs to have 10 hours or more of volunteer work before graduation).

During Lunch-break we tried on Lab jackets and scrubs and got the information where to order them.

After lunch we returned the 4 pages with the signature (they sent these 4 pages by email).

Then, we met the professors and everyone gave a little speech and welcomed the students.

Then, a Professor presented the Nursing Program, a review of every course, she answered questions and we ended at 3:15 pm.

That's what I remembered from Orientation Day, they gave us a packet. Maybe, you can obtain it with Dianna.

Hope this helps you answer your question. Regards.

Thank you! Do we need to wear our scrubs on the first day? Also, The physical paperwork is due march 1 so I'm sure you'll have enough time to get it all completed. Best of luck!

About the scrubs, they mentioned it is no mandatory for the first year but almost everybody wear them (I guess it is easier and at the same time you get use to them). On the other hand, the lab coat it is mandatory since the first day. Even, if you go to the 5th floor to ask something, they recommended you must wear it. Dean said that is professional and the way a nurse must be all the time.

Happy holidays!!!

Have you guys gotten/received your textbooks yet ?

I have. I ordered all of mine from amazon.

Is everyone wearing scrubs on the first day? Also, have you guys received any course syllabi?
