I worked in surgery for a few months and decided I didn't like it well enough to continue. My husband works with one of the surgeons occasionally that I worked with only two times who said to tell me he was looking for a full-time office nurse. I don't want to work full-time. Would it be appropriate to ask him if I could work part-time or should I just decline all together. I have never worked in a dr's office before and am not even sure how I would like it. I'm doing school nursing part-time right now and am considering a change. Also, do I just call his office and ask for him? I would also have to make at least what I am now to even consider it so I'm not sure how to bring that up either. Has anyone been in this type of situation before or have any advice? Thanks!!

You are unlikely to make the same thing in an office that you do in acute care.
You should never close a door on an opportunity without hearing the details. I'd call his office, ask to schedule an appointment (interview, not office visit, lol) and discuss the particulars before making any decisions.
