So im looking through YouTube to get a sterile dressing video, just surfing to do something other than read the text book. I come across a video of I guess it's a student? Not sure though, performing a dressing change ON AN ACTUAL PATIENT!!!!!!!
Is that a violation of HIPPA? I sent them a message to take it down, I hope they do it, first of all because she turned her back on her sterile field so many times, its not a good teaching tool. Secondly I dont even think the guy is aware he is being taped. He has his back turned towards the camera.
Just shocked and appalled. Should I even post a link of the video here? Or am i contributing to the lack of privacy thing. ORRRRRR am i making a big deal out of nothing, and should go back to studying for wednesday's exam that has nothing to do with sterile dressing changes. decisions decisions.

Big deal out of nothing. For all you know the person consented. There'll be enough to get agitated about for real.

We video tape procedures quite often where I work. The pts all know ahead of time and sign a consent, if they don't want to be on video, we ask someone else,..not a big deal,..........didn't you watch many such videos in school?
