Not sure if I'll get accepted again..

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey guys! This is my first post here.

I am researching schools in Bremerton Wa, since I will be moving there from Florida in December. I attended Virginia College here for LPN a little over a year ago (such as waste as I was unaware then that I didnt have to go through LPN to go to school for RN) Anyways, due to a bunch of circumstances working against me -two kids, single, working night shift and school at 6am) I was dropped from the class after the first semester. It broke my heart, but I was really overwhelmed and just couldn't handle it all. I still have to pay them..in order to get my transcripts, IF they are even worth anything.

Well, I have changed my life quite a bit. Not single, am in a very supportive relationship, and I don't have to work nights anymore. I will be just fine not working until I graduate. I'm hoping that with my previous (bad) experience, a school (Olympic College) will accept me to the RN program.I can focus better now, and I have such a passion for nursing, that I even cry when I watch Hawthorne and Boston Med. LOL

Does anybody think I have NO chance? Should I still go for it?

Anybody in Wa?

Thanks guys. ::)

PS.Im thinking I should start volunteering here as much as I can, to boost my application a little bit, right? And I still have all my books, and study for about an hour a day.

Sorry I dont live in Washington, but Of course you should go for it! If you have the passion you shouldnt give up on your dream of being a nurse. Good luck.

Specializes in none as of to date.

:hrns&wlcm:...I agree, I would go for it. Volunteer work always helps as well!! Most applicaiitons require a letter or cover letter explaining why you wnat to be a nurse or get into the program, it could beyour chance to mention the volunteer work, and your circumstanes, including your dedication. Even if ou do not get in the first time around, you can still work on your pre req's, so concentrate on grades and reapply next year.. It all adds up, and can mean the difference between you and another applicant getting in a competitve program...good luck, and never give up!:redpinkhe
