Not Sure How To Proceed

Published

Here's the short version, I'm 29, been an FNP 1yr, working in a Primary Care clinic for 6 months, was an RN for 7 yrs prior to becoming an NP. Currently feeling bored and unfilled, not quite sure where to go or what to do. Not sure what would make me feel fulfilled. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Everyone

Seriously Zenman hook a sister up lol. Whitney, I'm an active member in my church, help teach the youth class, and minister whenever they need me and I read the word and pray each and everyday but even in my spiritual life I feel like something is missing and that I need more. I looked up MHNP in my area and found 2 females but haven't found/made the time to call and schedule an appointment, kind of nervous and not even sure how to go about it. Like I said I'm only 29 and I feel like life is passnig me by.

Rest assured, life is not passing you by. Since you mention you are active in your church I feel it's okay to remind you that God knows exactly where you are and He's going to let you know when/if you need to be somewhere else. You also likely are already aware that emotions do not equate with reality. My emotions may change by the moment on a whim (and they do!) but I need to reconcile my emotions with reality...not everything I feel is right. Not everything you feel is right/good/in line with God's plan. That's the nature of being human!

If you can find a counselor to assist you in the process of thinking these things through, it may be helpful. A lot of times it's helpful just to hear yourself expressing your emotions and thoughts out loud to someone else (that's the benefit I derived from seeing a therapist a few years ago). It may assist you in bringing your thoughts and emotions in line with your God-given intellect so you can have clarity in decision making.
