Have any current srna/crna's been accepted as an alternate or put on a waiting list for crna school? Any idea of the odds to getting accepted?
Tx in advance

Anything's possible. Alternate is better than rejected. Someone could decline to attend and open up a position for you. It has happened.

Yep - alternate is better than a rejection letter. Lots of circumstances happen that might open up a slot for you - good luck.

You might want to call the school and let them know you would be available last minute, if going doesn't require a big move. One of the schools I interviewed at said some guy took one look at the size of the books and decided it wasn't for him. If you live close by and can prepare yourself, you might get lucky that way too!

no matter where you go, there's NO small book list.. remember too, as much as you may want all of them, all are not needed. i made the mistake of buying most of them before school started and i wish i hadn't .. also, remember, the campus library is a great resource ...

I was told this at Kaiser. What a waste to look at the books on the first day and change your mind. I would think if you took the time and money to apply you would know what you were getting into.

What program (s) were you placed on alternate. I am in the same situation for one of the programs that I applied. I called the program coordinator to find out: how many alternates, where on the listed I ranked and how many alternates where given seats in previous years.
Good luck!!

I got in off of the alternate list and start this May so it does happen. It actually looks like one other person in my program got in off the list. It does happen. The nice thing about my program is the give each alternate a number and the school posts on their website what number the list is currently at. I got kind of obsessive looking at the site though.
