Nosebleeds

Soooo...Would it be snarky of me to send this out to teachers? REALLY tired of blood covered children coming in.

Dear Teachers,

My apologies in advance for even having to say this, but please, if your student has a bloody nose, have them grab a tissue and pinch their nose before they head down to see me. Many have shown up at my door looking like they are auditioning for a remake of "Carrie."

I have found it to be very helpful for a big nose bleed to have the kid try to express the clot (when I can see one) because that is what is dripping. Once the clot is removed, the nose bleed usually stops. Then I have then=m clean up, and coat the inside of the nose with vaseline.

Be warned though, to make sure there is lots of paper towels to protect you from the spray!!!!
