Hi everyone! I’ve been stalking both this Spring 2021 page as well as the Fall 2020 page for months and months on end. Applied for the first time for Spring 2021 and I’m so, so thankful to be a part of the Class of December 2022. I cannot wait to meet you all soon!

thanks

I did this!! I did this before I even tried to apply for the first time. It’s well worth the money/time/energy!

I second this. I also retook my class that I had a B in to get an A. It does make a difference. So retake the class to get an A and don't give up. I decided to retake the class this Summer and this was my third time applying. So keep trying and don't give up. Good luck!

This! Please, please don’t give up. I also wanted to add GPA is not at all a factor. It doesn’t matter at all as long as you make the 2.5 threshold for application acceptance! My transcript isn’t pretty but I have A’s in all pre-reqs and all co-reqs completed. That’s the key. Good luck all and keep faith!
I retook bio 141 and got a B. I was .8 from an A. I have As in other classes. B in statistics. and As in Bio 142, Nutrition etc. Micro. I can't retake Bio 141 again. After this semester will have a 3.8 plan GPA and 3.4 cumulative and 90 credits from NOVA. It has taken me.a long time to learn how to juggle everything in my life and become good academically.
So I guesse if you have a B and can't retake it, there is no reason to reapply because BIO 141 class has to be an A. ( I am guessing mason is the same).
I guesse that's that and it does it does not matter if you worked really hard to be all around stronger in other areas. I have shared custody and can't move. So mason and NVCC were it.
I have been through so much in my life and the maturity to gain wisdom it, I felt that I would bring something to the table to be a great nurse. I don't know what I could have done to work harder. I feel so disappointed in myself. I keep trying to work harder and I don't get anywhere.

I felt the same. I had about 60 credits completed. When I first took the pre-reqs, I wasn't in a good place so I got a B in psy and a C in Bio 141. I also got a C in bio 142. I didn't get accepted of course. The second time, I decided to retake Bio141 to get an A. I didn't get accepted the second time either for Spring. I applied again for fall 2020 but I got rejected again. Then this Summer, I retook psy and bio 142 to get an A along with completing bio 150 with an A as well. With the exception of the humanities elective, I got As in all of my pre-reqs and co-reqs. I ended up with 3.9 GPA and and overall 3.4 GPA. This time I got accepted.
it wasn't easy staying positive when I got rejected the first 3 times. But I wanted this and I knew I couldn't give up. So although, it took more time, money, and energy, I was able to improve my chances by retaking classes to get better grades. So please, don't give up! Retake the class to get an A. It will make a difference, especially since they have waived the TEAS. If they do decide to open the testing center, do well on the TEAS to increase your chances of getting accepted. If they waive the TEAS again, then please do retake bio141 to get an A. I know it's frustrating but if it can increase your chances, then why not? Besides, there are students like me who got accepted after multiple tries and after improving their grades. So please take my advice and don't give up please. Keep trying and believe me, all the effort, the time, and energy will be worth it. Good luck.

Also, I was really, really depressed. I felt disappointed myself and I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. It was very hard to deal with it. I felt like a complete failure. But I knew if I gave up now, there was no way I would be able to achieve my dreams. I had to keep trying because I wanted this bad. Take this time to relax and stay positive. And then try again. there is no harm in trying again. so don't give up. Keep going. Like I said, you can only increase your chance of getting accepted so please try again.

I already retook Bio 141 and I got a B. My retake was a B! I did not do well on an exam. You can't retake it a third time. I have As in everything else. Math are B's.
I thinking I were 25 or 30 I would just keep redoing things and applying, but I'm in my 40s. I wanted to be a nurse.at 19, 20, 21. I gave up. I have been back at NVCC since 2016 and have worked harder than I have, but I am stick with a B in 141. I don't want to keep banging my head either. It is what it is.

I'm pretty sure you can take it a third time but you have to fill out a course repeat sheet and have it approved by the dean! thats what I did with microbio.
