Hello-

I was wondering if anyone is applying to Northeastern's ABSN program for the Fall 2017 cohort. I am and would love to chat with others about the process, qualifications, applications, etc. Here are my stats:

- Completing my first BS; graduating in May

- Current GPA: 3.73

- Prerequisite grades:

Anatomy I: A

Anatomy II: A-

Stats: A

Dev Psych: A

Nutrition: A-

Soc Science: A

Micro Bio: In progress

Chem: In progress

Love to hear from any others applying or anyone that is in the program and has information they are willing to share.

Thanks!

I was accepted for Fall 2017. I was just in today and they said testing is on Tuesday and lab depends on the instructor but usually M, W or Th. Clinical can be any day or time of the week except Tuesday. Everything but test, labs and clinical is online and can be done from anywhere.

They told me that I can get reviewed for a decision when I have my final two prerequisites in progress. They gave me the name of a school that I am checking into for online Microbiology because they said they offer short sessions that I could get it done by March and only have Statistics and Nutrition left in progress. My counselor said they review on a rolling basis so there would not be a delay or batch review only at certain times. My cousin is finishing her Bachelors still and only has three prerequisites left as well, they told her that her timeline is different because she has to get her degree posted too...seems like there is a lot that can vary but I appreciate them giving me a clear picture of what is needed, i've felt really in the dark with other programs I look at and I only get calls when i leave tons of messages. At least NU has actually been guiding me and returns my calls when i have questions.

My counselor actually showed me what some of the online courses look like when i went to Burlington for a tour and they seem much more interactive than courses back when i did undergrad. One of the faculty stopped by and even mentioned how there is overlapping lab times and open labs with students in the cohort doing the same stuff so it really feels like a hybrid blend and not just online, that made me feel a lot better too

No, I guess it was just the online component and the bouncing around. Not sure I would have been so quick to decline if there was more time to decide. I had other programs that I was waiting to hear from that I was very interested in. Northeastern just wasn't high enough on my list of schools to be willing to commit without hearing from the others. Given the short time frame that they give you, it was either send in the $1,000 and commit or decline.

Hope that makes sense.

Wow, their deposit is $1000? That is expensive! And why do they require such a quick turn around? Is there any reasoning behind that? i know most schools give you time to decide until a specific deadline. That is very interesting. But $1000 is a huge deposit. And wouldn't an online program be cheaper? You would think that having an online component would lower the price for the students, but their price tag for the program is greater than some face-to-face programs!

hey guys! I just got accepted into Fall 18'

Does anyone have the syllabus for semester 1 classes? I wanna be as prepared as possible
