I've been accepted to the fall 2017 program as well. Your stats look great. It seems like the admissions board may only meet every couple of months. Unless I'm wrong, they will meet again in May. Good luck!

I wanted to apply there but they told me I needed to graduate/complete my classes before I could..so I don't know if I should wait until the end of May to apply there. What do you guys think? I was accepted to Regis's ABSN program for the Fall of 2017, but isn't Northeastern's program more prestigious? I don't know what to do
I'd say it doesn't hurt to apply to both.
Hi veronicamarsh-
That was erroneous information. I applied to Northeastern and was accepted and I still have an outstanding pre-req and don't graduate from my first Bachelor Degree until May.

Do you know if they told you it's acceptable to just have one outstanding prereq? Because I have more than one. I think they do not allow you to apply with more than a certain number of outstanding classes. An admissions counselor told me I needed to have at least x amount of classes completed in order to apply... which means I wouldn't be able to apply until the end of May.
Also-what do you think of their all online classes?
I had both the Micro with Lab and Chem with Lab outstanding which I am currently taking and as I mentioned I have not graduated my first undergrad yet; will be graduating in May.
As for the structure of their program with the online classes and jumping from campus to campus, it wasn't really a good fit for me. I have taken online classes in the past but for this program I really wanted to feel connected to the entire cohort and be in classes with them for all of the curriculum. Seemed like a better support system to me.
If you are interested in the program, I would go ahead and apply. They are pretty quick to render a decision. I applied on February 6 and was accepted on February 16. What have you got to lose? Only thing is, once you get accepted, it's not one of those programs where you have plenty of time to decide and then can throw a couple hundred to hold your place. Their deposit is $1,000 (non-refundable) and is usually due two weeds after decision is received.
Thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it. So you decided not to attend Northeastern? Were there any other reasons why besides the online classes? Just curious!
No, I guess it was just the online component and the bouncing around. Not sure I would have been so quick to decline if there was more time to decide. I had other programs that I was waiting to hear from that I was very interested in. Northeastern just wasn't high enough on my list of schools to be willing to commit without hearing from the others. Given the short time frame that they give you, it was either send in the $1,000 and commit or decline.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi y'all!
i am applying for the ABSN program for next spring but have been looking around to gather as much info as possible. In that, I am trying to find more about the schedule and also more about the required materials - uniforms, equipment, etc., so I can get a good estimate for costs in addition to tuition. Have they given you information in regards to that, and can you tell me a bit about it so I can try and estimate costs and such?

Hi mjc2005,
schedule is hard to pin down as it depends on the cohort. They have 1 day where you take your exams. My cohort and the new cohort that just started has exams on tuesdays but this changes usually semester to semester. You then have lab 1 day a week for the first two semesters, either wednesday, thursday, or friday for 3 hours. First semester you have 1 clinical which can be any day and time, the rest of the semesters you have 2 clinicals...again any time. The great thing I like about this program is the online component. So when I am not taking an exam, at lab or clinical I can do my class work any time of day or anywhere. Most schools you are there set days and times and that can be annoying. This program is very expensive so be prepared to drop some serious cash. the program itself is over 70k. The uniforms cost about 15-20 for each top and bottom and you need at least 2 pairs in my opinion. You need a name tag which is about $7. You will also need a stethoscope - any type really but I prefer the littman and they range from $40-200 depending on the style. You need a pen light, nursing scissors, etc. The books thankfully are not crazy except one here or there that is expensice but most times you either dont need the book or its an old version so they are cheap. There is a $600 ATI program you buy in your 4th semester to help increase your chances to ace the NCLEX and it is required as well. Hope this answers your questions
