Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

U.S.A. North Carolina

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Oh ok well this one class will do it at the hospital from what it's saying which is a huge plus for me: with all of points im at 137 that's not including bio 169 or bio 175. So we'll see. And you?

Wait wait wait! Marta 1990, do you mean I have to take the class because wake take won't admit CNA challengers?

Well yes they fill fast. But March 12 was when I felt I'd be ready

That's awesome Marta1990! You said you were taking BIO 175 first summer session? So you'll get those points too... and BIO 169 in the fall? Right now I'm sitting at 156. That includes the TEAS. Can't remember if you said you've taken the TEAS or not. I'm taking two online courses... my very last two pre-nursing courses. If I make A's in both I'll be applying with 186... fingers crossed.

Jpeters247, how long ago did you sign up for the exam? I'm nervous that the seats are going to fill since I can't register until my class is over. I would also ask Ms. Watkins about challenging the CNA exam because I think it depends on the school. But I do know, like you stated before, starting in March, NC CNA's can no longer challenge the exam, you are required to sit for a course. Whether WTCC has said they are not accepting challengers from this point on... I have no idea.

Yes you are right I had forgotten that they will take those points good luck to you girl.. I'll comment closer to the application due date to see where my points stand.

Hey everyone! Just got confirmation from Mrs. Watkins that challengers are accepted up until July 31st. There after, challengers wont be accepted without course. Anyone up for studying skills together?

Really? That's amazing I would deff donut with you but the thing with me is that what if I don't get accepted for the spring of 2017 I would have to reapply for fall 2017 and I would have to have my CNA not challenged though..so I just might as well take the class in March to be in the safe side.. Good luck to you though

So, CN_2brn919, I totaled up my scores and hopefully if I get above 80's on the TEAs I will have 159. Do you think this is good. I've completed ALL classes after this semester, just need to do CNA and TEAS now. I hope me having all B's and one C wont hurt me. Gotten a C in ENG 111. On the border with HUM 115 and getting a B or an A. Right now average is 88 in that class. What's your points?

Hey Marta that makes perfect sense. Got my blood pressure cuff which is my most hardest skill to me that I'm doing now. Hopefully I wont even get that for the CNA skills.

Jpeters247, I think you'll probably be fine! Of course we won't have an idea of the points until probably after they announce the ones for people who get in for the fall. Since the fall points are typically more competitive than the spring, once they announce those points we'll have a better gauge on what could be accepted for the spring. Is HUM 115 the only course you're taking this semester? Right now I have 156 points, but that does not include the two courses I'm currently taking. If I make an A in both courses I'll be applying with 186. If for some reason I make a B in both courses the minimum amount I would be applying with is 174. Right now I'm carrying an A in both classes. Does your 159 points include the grade that you think you'll make in HUM 115?

This is including the HUM 115 with an A. Every class has been a B except ENG 111. So nervous about that. Although Mrs. Watkins said never has she seen anyone with all A's, and that my B's should be fine, it still worries me. However, guess we'll wait and see.
