Is the infusion of normal saline after donating plasma (plasmapheresis) can benefit the donor? Why or why not?

I donate plasma every three weeks and have never needed any IV infusion.

I used to donate plasma twice a week when I was in nursing school. At the end of the process a 500 mL bolus of NS was infused to replace the fluid lost through the donation. Simple and quick process. And of course they recommend staying very well hydrated.

Interesting the minimum time between donations here is 2 weeks. But they do advise on being well hydrated

Oh wow. Yep, we could do twice in a 7 day period with at least one day in between donations.

Yep, it was twice in 7 days here, too, and they always gave us fluids back afterwards. I guess that's what the difference is - if they make you wait two weeks before donating again, I'm sure you'd get the fluid back on your own just fine. Donating every couple of days, though, probably necessitates some replacement fluids.
