Well ADL's are just that...activities of daily living. As a young adult I get out of bed, shower, brush my hair, brush my teeth, eat, go to work/school/shopping, etc.
Same as elderly people. I'm just a little quicker in some aspects than they are.
What is it exactly giving you issues? Perhaps an example may help? And what do you have so far?
I'm looking for references for the norms of a young adult's sleep, elimination, hygiene, nutrition, physical exercise, hobbies, interpersonal relationships, environmental safety, and personal safety (risk for falls, etc). I get the overall gist but need research to support my paper. So far I've only found what an exercise routine SHOULD be like (not what norms are), but I've only started researching today (paper's due in a couple weeks).
Recommendations and standards of care is what young going to find. The young adult population is diverse some are couch potatoes playing video games and drinking beer others are active professionals

Hey all,
I'm writing a wellness profile and got stuck in the researching process, so I thought I'd give allnurses a try. One of the appendices needs to include the normal ADLs of the age group that I am assessing. I am assessing a young adult so it hasn't been as easy for me to find these norms as it would be, say, an older adult. These ALDs need to include exercise and nutrition. I'd be grateful for any helpful websites! I know I'm not the only one in my class who came across this problem.
