Non operative hip fracture care

Hi guys,

My dad had right hip fx and the doctor didn't do the surgery as he had lots of risk factors. They placed him in bucks traction. Can somebody please advise me if it's possible to turn him on sides with bucks traction or to elevate his head to prevent bed sore and aspiration pneumonia?
