No more Nursing...Anyone know anything about Speech Pathology?

Nurses Career Support

Published

I have made up my mind and decided that I no longer wanted to be a nurse.Speech pathology sounds like a suitable career for me.I'm patient, reserved (which means I'd enjoy a low stress, non hectic environment),I like to see progress,Im articulate ,I want to make a difference!I find Speech Pathology very rewarding.I'd like to heal and/or help improve the lives of others but without needles and blood being involved.Helping people and kids learn how to communicate or swallowing is extremely rewarding in my opinion. After a relative had a stroke,I saw how difficult it was for her to communicate her needs and wants.I was young at the time, but I always found myself correctly guessing what she wanted to say.Not being ale to communicate limit peoples' lives.I'd like to help break that barrier.I'm going to volunteer to shadow a SP soon. How's the job market and salary?what qualities should a Speech Pathologist have?

Hello, I am interested into pursuing speech pathology..just wanted to know which Speech Pathology school are you attending? if you can tell me more about it, I really appreciated:)..thank you!
