NNAS experience?

World Registration

Does anybody have any experience with NNAS? So far, I've read the site but it would be great to hear from people who have gone through the process :)

Ask NNAS exactly what they need, and then ask your school to send it to them. It must be sent directly from your school to NNAS, it can not be sent from you. It seems your school is communicating well with you, so just ask them to send the documents directly to NNAS and offer to pay any shipping fees.

Write them the email I suggested above, and cc yourself so that in the future you have proof that you specifically explained and stated that you are active on your file and wish it to remain open. One thing with NNAS is that you have to always document everything that happens with your file, like another poster on this forum suggested.

Call NNAS Customer Support and ask to speak to one of their managers. Be persistent. When you speak to the manager, request the evaluator's email. Many people have received their evaluator's email address and you are paying the same amount for the assessment as everyone else and therefore deserve the same treatment/information as others. You have to be so persistent.

Hey RN_Pro, I sincerely appreciate your reply! Many thanks!

My schools directly posted all my files to NNAS twice last year (yes, i offered to pay the courier by myself), nnas have received those files and now what they need to do that to verify those files with my school, i have no idea in whatway nnas contacted with my schools but two months plus passed, nnas claimed that there is no response from my schools, which is rather strange because the school staff in charge never receive any call or whatever letter from nnas....yes! This afternoon i have wrote another letter based on your previous suggestion to NNAS. Now anxiciously waiting their reply, i guess it would be the similar answer from them which something like "nnas will follow up with your school, there is nothing required from you(applicant)".....what a disppointing answer! With the hope that I will see at least my status shows "ready for review"(showed in April then suddendly change to "waiting further documents" sth like that)!

.......

Hi RN_Pro, I have just received reply from NNAS after i wrote them a email based in your suggestion, the reply is "our verification dept will verify your documentation ,after that then we will proceed for your evaluation"..so they did not provide me with my evaluator email thought i have asked them twice for it, now i think i need to call them......so pissed me off.

The good thing is, they are not closing your file. You have been in communication with them so they know you are still active on your file.

But yes, the bad thing is they still refuse to provide it. I agree, call customer service and ask for a manager. They will say that a manager will call you back within 2 weeks, but say no, you will wait on the line until you can talk to one that day. It is not fair that others are given the name and contact information for their evaluator and others aren't. You've paid the same price, you are a customer, and the service needs to be transparent.

Some cases they may close?thats terrible....Thanks RN_Pro for your advices! Much appreciated!

Hi parasol!

How was your NCAS experience? I just received the result of my assessment yesterday. Sorry that I just read your post today. I took mine in June.

Heads up!

Make sure the individual institution that are sending their employment verification etc. put the complete address on their envelopes!

Turned out that this is basically used as the ONLY address for each employer as well as verification, in my case they used the address of the courier service (like, really?) as the address of my hospital I was working. (THAT is why)

I want that others don't have to deal with those kinda errors in the future, because correcting these errors does stake up a long time that can be prevented.

As for me, I am still in contact with NNAS regarding errors and more, I will give you some updates on it soon...

Hi!

I did my NCAS in July, I haven't had the results yet though. I found the SLA stressful, but feel it was conducted and run well. I'm interested to hear the outcome of the report, if you don't mind sharing. Such as what CRNBC has recommended as your next steps towards registration. :)

Hi Parasol

Can you give me an example of what were the procedures you did in SLA?i have no idea what to prepare?

My email is [email protected]

Please inbox or send me an email .i need help with preparation .

Hi aKaur

I am very sorry, but I won't be able to give you an example of what scenarios we did. At the beginning of the SLA they make you sign a confidentiality agreement agreeing to not share the content of the exam. It threatens legal action and everything if you are caught disclosing it. This agreement I think would explain why there is so little discussed about NCAS on forums such as this. Anyway, with all the time and money I have invested so far in this process of gaining registration, it isn't a risk I am willing to take.

The NCAS website gives fair examples of the structure of the exams.

Good luck! :)

My NNAS RPN report has been "under review" since 23.03.2017 and I have now received the report after a 5.5 month wait. My ETP showed comparability of 0.0%. Mind you, I have been a full-time bachelor nurse for 22 years, I am currently working as a psychiatric nurse (level 5) and have active registration in the Netherlands and the UK.

The facts speak for themselves.

Hi @pdubuf

Something must have not been submitted incorrectly or someone screwed up your file completely. NNAS does not adequately assess nursing education but if you have a 4 year nursing degree it is very odd that you had 0%--I'm not sure of anyone else who has had 0%. I would call and ask to talk to a Manager. Also, please request that they send you everything that was sent to them by your university. It should be pages and pages...
