Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

To all who have their CBT approaching. NMC blueprints and royal marsden is what you guys need to follow. Dont miss a single link from blueprints. Its just nursing in CBT. All that we had studied in nursing school including the nursing foundation and its theories and some very basic coping mechanisms etc. Use your common sense when answering at times. Keep your patient first when you answer. Royal marsden (I repeat) is must. you should know which NMC code covers what. Hope this helps. All the best.

Hi. Do you have something else to recommend? Please do recommend!

I write comments based on my own experience. This is also what NMC asks us to read before sitting for CBT. I did what NMC said (blueprints and Royal marsden) and I was able to pass it in first attempt.

Hi! Anyone here who will process their visa application from Saudi Arabia and will fly directly to UK? Is there a need to get a TB test? I've heard from some that it is no longer a requirement if someone has been a resident of the middle east but I just want to be sure. Thanks!

Hi. I'm also planning to fly directly from Saudi to UK. Are you already in the UK?

Hi there

After my second attempt I have passed CBT exam!! Now OSCE is next. I used mnemonics to remember the code and memorized all the formulas for drug calcs, a lot of safe guarding and what NOT to choose. I am glad I am done with this part. Good luck to all!

not all the links open. not all in the marsden is helpful. the test is basic. but obviously, they have to know the difference in the uk practice.

Hey everyone,

I just booked in my CBT test for the 13th March. Unfortunately where I live there aren't many dates available so I had to go with this one otherwise I would need to wait two months. That leaves just over two weeks to revise! Reading this forum has sufficiently scared me, particularly at how many have failed.

If I just cram reading all the blue prints, all the links given, guidelines will that be enough? I also think I will get the Royal Marsden as well to study. Would you recommend buying any of those online mock CBT tests online to trial?

My email is [email protected]. Would be great if someone could give some tips or advice, i'm sufficiently nervous now.

Thanks!

First of all congratulations,. I am due for CBT on Feb 27. Any advise.

Is calculator allowed what type of calculation questions were there.

How did u study the blue prints/ codes. What kind of questions they ask.

Please let me know

Hello all,

I've been lurking on this thread for a while, toying with the decision to through this whole process and I have decided to bite the bullet and try. A few questions and if anyone could guide me I would wholly appreciate it!

1. Is everyone going through a nursing agency, if so, which? Or are there people on here applying directly to the NHS/Private hospitals?

2. Is there ANYONE here who has actually passed the OSCE? Those pass rates are abysmal. :/

Any tips or comments are certainly welcome!

Thanks!

Calculators are not allowed. Only manual calculation.

1. I think having an agency going to UK can be of big help to your application because:

a. NMC application can be a big burden to your pocket, usually these agencies shoulder most if not all of the fees. If you don't have an agency, you will pay the fees on your own and will be just imbursed once you're on UK already.

b.These agencies also give support to your different tests like IELTS and CBT. They coordinate with review centers to have free tutorial for your exams.

c. Completing and checking the different forms and documents needed for NMC and Visa should be meticulous and always correct. Agencies can help with double checking and even to ask where to get some vital informations that are needed (eg. Police clearance should be less than 3 months old when being passed for visa application)

2. There are lots of recruits who have passed the OSCE. Almost all of my friends who took the OSCE passed it. Although, their Trusts may have an outstanding support to them while reviewing. Also, from what I know, you can at least have 3 tries to pass the OSCE.
