Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!

Hello guys!

I want to join this thread as I am also waiting for my DL.

:)

Congrats to those who got their golden tickets already. lol

Hopefully we all get there this year :)

Anyone here under IPAMS? Specifically for E&N NHS Trust?

Hi, I am going to take my CBT exam, what should i need to focus on? for most the test takers and comments here to focus more on the domain and the NMC code. Could you guys help me on to where should i get these review materials? Thank you!:)

Specializes in ICU/CCU BSN, RN, CCRN.

After reading the tips given by Agatoinks, I realized that I did not set up my date on any of my barcoded forms as DD/MM/YYYY. I emailed the NMC and asked if this will set my application back or if I will have to re-submit all of these forms. I will let everyone know as soon as I receive a reply!!

Hello! loads of information can be found on the NMC website. :D

I also suggest that you read the Royal Marsden book as it covers the practice in the UK

Hi. You may want to check this link made by one of the members here at the forum. She had put almost every useful links that you should be reading for CBT :)

Thanks for the advice.

Btw, why is it better to have a physician not associated with your employment?..now, i am worried...

Aside from that, what I submitted for the health declaration was our physician who happened to be my referee for the reference 1.

Does anyone here didn't experience any problem using their hospitak/company's physician?

Hi guys! So i have been reading recent posts here about resubmissions and queries on filling out forms and sending them to NMC.. and I wanna help out. I know it's stressful to wait so long for the DL but you will all get yours soon, for sure.

Not to brag, I never had problems during my assessment stage. I entered the queue on Dec 29 and received my DL on feb 7. So for everyone who are just about to send their documents, allow me to help you out with the tips I got from a friend who's in UK now. Thanks to her. I hope this helps.

1. Form to Accompany TOR

The name of the school should match your diploma and the online form. In my case, my school changed its name some years after I graduated, so here's what I did: for the online form, I followed what's on my Diploma; For the barcoded form, I let the school decide, they placed the new name given that my TOR has a "former" name on it.

section 3 of this form

Check the DATE TRAINING COURSE COMMENCED and COMPLETED before your school registrar seals the envelope (before sending to NMC). What they've answered here should match your answer on the online form.

Training hours should match the NMC requirements.

Don't forget the school stamp.

2. PRC form

No tips here, the PRC knows everything about the form, except for remembering your tracking number. They'll send it directly to NMC. Keep checking if they actually sent it, and ask them the name who received the envelope. This way, you can always ring NMC and give those info if your documents are not uploaded as expected. I thought mine got lost because it took them more than 3 weeks to scan it while my other documents were reflected on the portal as received only 10 days after being received. Same tip for all the envelopes you will send.

3. Reference Forms

Page 1: all info pertains to hospital

Page 2: all info pertains to the referee

Safe answer for the dates (what I did) if you have only 1 employer but were assigned to different wards.. just put the date you started working there and CURRENT if still employed.. same goes with the online form but for the end date I put the date the bar coded forms were accomplished by the referee.

Don't forget the stamp of employer/hospital.. meaning dryseal not trodat. Hospitals don't have trodats. Also, not the trodat of the referee although the referee should sign on the space provided, just above the stamp/dry seal box.

4. declaration of good health

Page 1: all info pertains to the doctor

Stamp of the doctor meaning TRODAT not the dryseal of the hospital where the doctor works. If your doctor doesn't have a trodat, He should provide a letterheaded paper... the doctor should write there that NO STAMP EXISTS then sign it.

The form says this should be accomplished by a medical doctor where you are currently employed, in my case, I went to a doctor not affiliated to the hospital where I am currently working. Why? i have read previous posts here from people who did what was exactly said on the form but they were asked to resubmit a new one. So to avoid the hassle, just find a physician outside your working network.

General tips (for all forms)

For the dates, follow the format DD/MM/YY Double check them before sending your documents to NMC.

Always compare the info on your bar coded forms to the online form before hitting the submit button. They should coincide. All your documents should be cohesive.

Do not hit SUBMIT without doing a final check. Once you click that button, there's no turning back, you can't edit your data unless you call NMC to reopen it.

You can place the declaration of good health, references and form to accompany TOR( from school) in one envelope.

In my case, my couriers were.. DHL express for PRC docs and for the rest (in one envelope) FEDEX via 2GO.

Once your documents are received by NMC.. it will take 2-3 weeks before it gets scanned. So don't call NMC because you'll just get the same answer. Bug them if 3 weeks have passed and your portal doesnt say RECEIVED. It's the best time to start calling them daily hahaha

The moment all your documents are reflected on your portal (meaning they were scanned already.. you will not see your actual documents but you will see a DOCUMENT RECEIVED table on your portal) that's the same date you entered the queue, but to be sure, give NMC a ring. Go to nmc portal, click MY APPLICATION, click OPEN to view the table (summary of documents.. or resubmission info)

NMC will email you if they need more from you. I used to wonder if not receiving an email is something to be celebrated or worried about. I thought nothing's happening because every time i check my portal there's literally nothing new. But I realized, there's really 4 exams and this part is the third... it's the TEST OF PATIENCE. So just keep your faith up while waiting. I know it's stressful and you all want to get your DLs soon. It will come, at the right moment.

Im praying for all of you. Mamay we all pass the OSCE and get our pins.

If you have doubts, or anything you wanna sort out... call NMC. They are best to allay your worries and answer your queries.

You can email them too.

Before calling or sending an email, be sure you have your candidate id with you.

Good luck guys!

Hi. Need your help. I think i am having the same problem as yours right now. Can't access my nmc account at the same time as i supposed to register to the pearson vue for my exam they dont have my deatils.

What have you done to resolve this issue?. Thanks

Thanks for the advice.

Hi, I think NMC stated in the declaration of good health it should be completed by a doctor that you have not worked with. He/she can't be your referee. I suggest that you call NMC to address your issue as early as possible. May I ask if you have already forwarded all the nmc forms?

This might be an off topic. For those applicant from the philippines, have you already undergone ppd testing? What will happen if it turn out positive?

Does it really help if you call the nmc just for an update on your application?

Hi we have the same employer! I'm also waiting for my DL, been on the queue since Dec. 29, how about you?

Congrats to those who got their DLs!

Really?oh no......

I downloaded and read the latest "NMC booklet guidelines for registering as nurse or midwife in the UK".

and it is written there that it is the applicant's GP or occupational health department at their workplace. My GP is one of my employers that is why he's the one I submitted for the healyh dec.

Yes, I already submitted my docs and on queue on December 29, 2016.attachment.php?attachmentid=24128&stc=1
