Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
bring those you only have. wheb you arrive here, you will have a medical exam in your hosptal's ooccuoational health clinic, titers will be taken and iff your results are negative or you need vaccines, they will schedulae you to have that. all for free.
i really don't have anything. I lost all records but the agency asks for a certification, how can I have one? Do I just simply approach any medical doctor and ask? I have no idea at all.
Hello and good day,
I am starting the process of completing and submitting the documents NMC requires to send to them by post. Among those are the reference letters, to these I would just like to ask a question:
It says that the dates of the referee's supervision of the employee has to coincide with what the applicant puts in the portal. But in my case, I have been working in a hospital for four years, and as such have been reshuffled to different areas to prevent stagnancy. Is it ok if the first referee I put was my nurse supervisor of about a little over a year, and the second referee is the nurse supervisor I had for little over 2 years?
I am just cautious because the guide stated that the dates the referees provided must coincide with the dates I put in their portal, and since the portal requires that I put the dates I was employed in the hospital, the referee's dates and the employment dates certainly don't coincide.
If it seems like a noobish question, I sincerely apologize, I just want to make sure I don't make any mistakes because the shipping fees are hella expensive....

same case. working for 6 years now.
What I did was for Ref1, I asked my charge nurse to just put that date I was hired then CURRENT for end date (because I am still employed), then told her to just explain if NMC gives her a ring, then nurse supervisor for ref2 so no prob here since she's the supervisor, start date to CURRENT again..
no DL yet but so far, no emails/questions from NMC.
thank you very much! I'll try and emulate your example...so in my case for ref1 I'll use the starting date of my employment to the day that I was reshuffled, then for ref2, I'll use the start date of my first day at my new station till the end of my employment....
Again thank you very much for your advice! One last thing though because Ive been reading alot of conflicting things in the internet, if your hospital only has a dry seal, you dont have to make a letter explaining that your hospital doesnt have a stamp right?

Not sure if its okay to put the day you were transferred to a diff post as your end date. I didn't do that, I just wrote CURRENT.
i think employer stamp is same as employer dry seal. if you meant trodat, i dont think hospitals do have that.
but for the declaration of good health, since it asks for a stamp of a MEDICAL PRACTITIONER.. meaning a person not an institution, I think you have to use the TRODAT there. I don't think doctors have dry seals with their names on it :)
Ah okay, I think I get what you were trying to say. You put in current date because you were still employed, but I dont think that applies to my situation, because I started working in my past institution in 2010, got transferred to another area around the end of 2011, then stayed in that area until I quit my job in 2014...if that's the case Im back to square one
yes I meant the dry seal of the hospital. If it's ok to not write an explanation letter if I use a dry seal then at least that's one of my problems solved hahaha

Did you mean you transferred hospital or post/area?
working for 6 years now and also been assigned to different areas, under one hospital. i just wrote CURRENT. That's what i've read from prev posts here but let's see if others did it differently. Let's wait for their suggestions too. Not really sure but so far, NMC haven't emailed me for clarification.. been on queue for a month now.
no need because you have provided the stamp/dry seal already. You only write an explanation letter if your employer doesn't have a stamp.
good luck! :)
No i never transferred hospital. Im just a bit anxious about how I should approach how to fill up my info on the nmc registration site because it makes it look like I transferred to another hospital when I just moved to another floor.
Bear with me please, this is my situation: I started working in a tertiary hospital, medical surgical ward, 4th floor, 2010. I transferred to another floor, still a medical surgical ward, but at the third floor because according to rumors, the management hates it when the staff get too close to each other because it might cause slip ups.(!) When I switched floors I also switched nursing supervisors. So I never had a superior who I was under for the entirety of my employment. THAT's why Im confused how Im gonna fill up my forms and the data on my portal because the portal's fields make it look like I transferred hospitals when in fact I just transferred floors and supervisors.
By the way, congratulations on being on the queue for awhile now. Hopefully you'll make it to your destination soon!
