The NMC is raising the registration fee again and I have heard very little protest from nurses.

Our colleagues in the HPC register once every 2 years and pay only £160. We are on the same pay scale as they are and they are more likely to be at higher bands. Why do nurses always take the brunt of these costs. Grrrrrrr:no:
The NMC says its to pay for public protection but do individual policemen pay to fund the PCC???
I guess I'll be paying for this out of my below inflation pay raise
I lived and worked in London for over 2 decades before moving to the US, and still do bank work when i visit.
It sounds as if you need to look at different accommodation?
Moving to CA is not the happy ever after you think it will be.
Please be very careful before taking the big step, and keep in touch with your friends back in England, you are going to need them.
i think nurses just have stopped caring. we filled out the petition last time. it went to parliament and then raised it anyway, really really sad. i dont understand how nurse numbers are at an all time low but they need more money! they should move out of that poncy building in london for a start. that will save a few quid.
I agree with that last comment, a central London address is one of the most expensive in the world. It bugs me when charities have similar addresses as well, why do they need them?
In these days of online communication, they could all function just as well on remote islands somewhere off Scotland. : )

It depends where you work in the US. 12-14 days + public holidays is standard.
