NMC delay and put on queue this 2013. waiting for decision letter

Published

Since nmc put on hold all the papers and resume this year, is there anyone who was put on queue this 2013 and received the decision letter? I would like to know if 90 days waiting period really followed. Its really frustrating knowing that it only took 1 month before to process this. Please share your experiences. Thanks!

hi guys my friend submitted her Pack 2 last September. she just receive her Decision Letter this week. waiting period = 2 months. if no delay.

Hi guys! It's been quite some time since I last logged in. I feel sorry for myself for still not having my decision letter. Recently, they have sent me a form to let my reference answer it again. I get curious because they only send one form when I called them, they said that it should be two. So now,I am waiting for the other form and will send it again back to the Philippines. If I didn't ask about the other form, after 90 days, they will ask for another reference again. I'm so thrilled that your friend got hers for a matter of 2months only. To think that my application is over a year now with them :-(

why did they send another reference form? what's the problem with the previous ones you submitted? or they lost it?

My advise to those who are in England applying for NMC registration. Go directly to the office for follow up, if you finished the first 90 days you shouldnt be waiting for 90 days to come. I did the same and 3 wks i have my decision letter. Even when submitting documents during your application, it's way better than sending on post.

About nursing experience i only have 9 months after i got my PRC license, 3 months is without my license yet but it didnt matter..i also include work experience i did when i just finish my nursing and its even in the community. Hospital doesnt need to be 100 beds too, so dont worry about those things just as long you have a nursing experience it countd. Also experience of being a carer or nursing assistant you can include in the form.. you are assess on an individual basis this small things can make a difference. The only important thing is answering those forms and it has to be clear even the simplest mistake, they will ask you for replacement. So goodluck everyone, its not very easy this days now but it is still possible.

My hospital didn't put a stamp and the referee didn't sign for it! I think they did it on purpose. By the way, is it true that for those applicants that is out of practice for more that 3 years, needs to go back to their home country to fulfill a 450 hours of hospital work? How true is that? Frankly speaking, I am out of practice for more than 3years now. And still hasn't receive my decision letter.

5 years. not 3. as long as you have 12 months post registration experience and it hasn't been over five years that should be fine.

Hi guys, just thought I'd add my experiences to the thread..I'm an Aussie nurse, originally started the process w NMC August 2012, and still going!

When I first submitted everything in pack 2, it took 90 days, then about 2 weeks, then I wrote a complaint letter and things moved a bit quicker, I got word back that they had one ref form wrong (??) and also that my transcript was wrong from my uni, so just in the process of re-submitting that stuff. But of course worried that they will come back and say something is yet again wrong.

Some advice: when on the phone, if your question is a bit more specific, tell them to ask a decision officer directly. The agents on the phone have NOTHING to do with applications and what is required of you. They are basically just customer service reps.

I'm worried that they'll come back and say I will have to re-do certain forms as it's been too long since I first submitted them, which is ridiculous because it takes THEM so long to process (not to mention the halting of processing in Feb 13).

This whole NMC thing has been causing so much stress for me over the last 18 months...completely unfair us RN's from highly competent Western nations should have to go through half the stuff they ask of you. Especially considering the NHS is in shambles.

Anyway, how long are people waiting currently for decision letters and pins?

My job is sposoring me for another visa in April 14 so I need at least a decision letter before then :dead:

Hi! I have started my application November 2012 and I am expeiencing the same situation like you do. The only difference is that, I had never asked for a decision officer for my queries. I am still waiting for my decision letter.

Regarding my hosp experience, since I am here in UK since November of 2008, I m out of practice since then. I worked as a healthcare asstant unil now. So officially, from now, I am really out of practice for 5 years. So does that mean that I have to go back home? Would that mean that the decision I am waiting for will state tha I have to go back home and fulfill the two month work experience? :-(

Hi, I would just like to share my experience as well. I am still waiting for my decision letter. I started my application last April 2013. After completing all the required forms and documents, I was put on the decision que some time on June and was told that it would take a maximum of 90days for a decision to be made. As expected, they didn't stick up with that.

It took another 3 weeks after the 90-day mark until I hear from them. The NMC said that they need another reference (OS1 Form) as my employer wrote on the title role "Training Officer". The NMC said that the one filling up the form should be a Registered Nurse. But my training officer is a registered nurse. So I went to the NMC Headquarters and showed they the reference letter I have with me which shows that my training officer is a registered nurse. They accepted it and said that it should be okay (happened on the last week of September). First week of November, I received a letter from NMC. I was excited thinking that it would be my decision letter. When I opened the letter, they were asking for another reference and a confirmation that the one who filled up the form should be on a "SENIOR CAPABILITY" (which is my training officer). I called the NMC and explained things, trying to sort it out but they said it should be confirmed by the one who filled up the form. The thing is that my training officer migrated to another country already. So I had the nursing supervisor from my previous employer to fill the form up.

Now, I am still on the decision que and hoping that they would issue a decision letter in the next few weeks (crossed-fingers).

I'm an Aussie nurse too. I started my application with the NMC in April 2012. They somehow managed to lose my file which meant I had to resubmit everything. They have now this week come back and said the hours from my degree are not satisfactory. I did a 3 year Bachelor at UTS. I went into their office and they basically told me that Australian nurses can no longer gain registration with just a Bachelor, we need to have an additional Graduate Diploma or higher. I'm just wondering what qualifications you have?

Hi mac-ayanco I have the same problem. My hospital didn't stamp my reference forms. Did you manage to get yours sorted out and have you received a decision letter yet?

Best wishes!
