What is the NLN test? I am applying to our local nursing school for Spring '08 and I have not read or been told anything about this test.

By the way, the local school is Wallace Community College in Dothan, AL.

Am I missing something?

Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, IM, OB/GYN, neuro, GI.

We took the test in our program but we were at the half way point and it was used to see how much we "knew" so far. Maybe they have different kinds of tests. You could call your advisor and ask them if it's something that needs to be done before you apply and what it involves.

NLN Pre Entrance Exam?

That is the test that some schools use as part of determining whether or not you will be accepted (ours weights entirely on the score you get from this test, but other schools look at other things such as GPA). It is a test that has 3 sections...Verbal, Math & Science. I would check with your school, find out when the cut-off date is for applying and whether or not they have anymore test dates prior to that cut-off date.

Our cut-off was September 5 and our last test was August 28.

Before you take the test, I would suggest getting the Study Guide and going over it again and again until you feel like you know the information. Here is a link so you know what the book looks like - you can probably search Ebay for it though. http://www.amazon.com/Review-Guide-Entrance-Exam-Pre-Entrance/dp/0763724866

If you are not referring to the Pre-Entrance Exam, then I am not sure what what it is!!!

It might be that your school does not use the NLN exam for entrance. I know some schools out here don't.
