NLN RN PRE EXAM

I am trying to get into the nursing program at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn NY, and this test has me more worried that actually attending the college itself. Does anyone know how hard the test is, what score you need to get accepted, and how long in advance they give you to take the test from the time that you enroll into the college? I am a Transfer student so i think there are a couple of the pre requisites that i have to get first, but i am so afraid of this test and what score i will need that i dont want to be unsuccessful. I also heard that if you fail the test one time that you cant take it again and that you lose your chances on becoming a nurse. I did terrible in high school but have exceled since going to school online at 38 years old, but i will be crushed if i dont get accepted into the nursing program, when its a dream i am trying to achieve for my me to ba able to take care of my daughter and i in the future.:confused:

I haven't taking the test because I'm still trying to figure out how I can obtain a study guide. I having problem nagivating myself through the NLN site to purchase one. If you can help me with that, that will be great.

Do you know which one you will have to take? I think there are a few.. my school used the PAX-RN which is similar to the TEAS. I would just get the study guide & brush up on high school level math & science. The test I took had ALOT of fractions.. which I'm not good at :( but I still managed to score high enough to get into my problem.. I did GREAT on the science.. which saved my score! lol

My school uses the NLN PAX-RN also, they require a 100 to get in. I have the book by Kaplan called Nursing School Entrance Exams. It goes through the NLN, NET, TEAS, and some others. I took the TEAS but didn't do well in the science, so I didn't get into the one school I was trying for. Btw, my school lists the NLN PAX-RN so isn't the PAX-RN by NLN? I thought they were the same tests?

How did everyone do on their test? whats the passing grade?

I used the NLN 3rd edition book and made a composite score of 134 94th percentile. My school requires a 111 to be considered but usually doesn't have enough spots to go that low in scores. Good luck with taking your exam
