NLN A&P Exam

Published

Hello everyone,

I am going to be taking the NLN A&P exam in the next few months and I am looking for some help on what to study. Has anyone taken it yet? Our school just switched from the NLN PAX Exam to the A&P Exam. I have called the NLN and there is no review guide available. I am not getting much help on what areas of A&P 1 and 2 would be the best to focus on and there is a lot of information. Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I can't wait and am sooooo excited.....see you on April 3rd!:)

I got my acceptance letter yesterday too.. Congratulations

Congrats Adutt!!!! See you guys April 3rd :nurse:

I am taking the exam in March, but I am extremely nervous about it. I attend the same institution, any advice about preparing for the exam?

futurenursegw - its funny you should tell that story because that was ME who Marlene overheard say I had never taken AP2 and she reamed me out. There was a huge issue with that and she was spoken to by one of the AP teachers for speaking to me that way. Either way - I see where she was coming from with her frustration because EVERYONE in my AP1 class registered and took the NLN and we had all not taken AP2 yet! Congratulations on getting in with 20 points. I read they took some with 19 so you were good either way. I'm hoping the points stay that low because if I get an 80 on the NLN I will have 22 points. I hope that will be enough!

I am wondering if anyone can give me some info on the NLN exam. What areas should I study/focus on the most? I am taking the exam on May 4th and hoping to get accepted for the Fall. I just finished taking both AP1 & 2 this semester together. Is there a study guide that we can use? Or do we just use our book and power points that we ahd from the semester and focus on all of those points?

Any info would be greaty appreciated!!

Amy,

Do you mind me asking how you did on the nln? I've been studying a lot for the test coming up in a couple weeks and I'm so nervous!

cng626, at least you got a feel for the test and totally know what to expect when you do take it again. I would have taken the test too if I was in your shoes. Good luck!

I did not use the book at all, i focused only on my APII powerpoints and some notes from lab class. Focus on areas of great importance. All about the heart....hormones...cells...ect. If you did well on your APII final...I am sure you will do OK...there were no diagrams on the one I took!

Thanks futurenursegw! You are in the program now right? Or do you start this summer? Either way best of luck to you!

I take the NLN exam tomorrow and I'm hoping I can do well just based on having took AP 1 & 2 now. I have a friend who took it today and says it is no computerized so you get your score right away...no more waiting 4 weeks for a score! But then you have to wait months to see if you got in...the waiting is the worst part!

I start on Monday and am overwhelmed by all the work and reading that needed to be done before even setting foot in the classroom. Although, I am determined to do this!!! I have to agree...the waiting and not knowing was awful...I checked my mailbox sometimes three times a day...lol!!!

I am applying for the nursing program this fall and I'm taking the nln exam at the end of this semester and I am beyond nervous already!!! I hope to have 22 points by then, but I am so scared of not getting in! Does anybody knows what was the cut off last semester???
