Hi everyone!
I applied for the njcu fast track bsn wall township cohort 2011. The program starts in two months and I'm anxious to find out about the result of my application. Does anybody know how soon I could get a letter after the application deadline? Or did anybody here apply and get a response yet?:redbeathe

Hey All-
If you are applying to JC- plan on waiting for a LONG time to find out if you are accepted or not. I am currently in the program and I waited for a long time (almost July) before finding out... hang in there!!

How do you like to program? I have not really heard much about how people like it. Do you have any idea the percentage of people that pass the nursing exam once they graduate or percentage that get jobs right away? I really hope I get in! Any advice or comments would be helpful! Good luck to you!

Hey all,
I signed on to this discussion board looking to sell some of my books. It looks like you guys haven't found out if you got in yet. I'm currently in the JC cohort, and last year I received my acceptance letter the first week of June. I'm not sure if this will be the same for you guys. I think it took about 3-4 weeks after the application deadline for them to notify people.
I took the liberty of butting in and answering some of your questions:
- I personally think the program is pretty good. Though I guess I really have nothing to compare it to. The school is accredited, it's the least expensive out of the local accelerated programs, and it's only 12 months. That's what appealed to me the most. As with most schools there are some professors/instructors that are great, there are some that are decent, and some that are not so good. Also, the department was a bit unorganized at times when notifying us about certain things. While I can't say that the school is perfect I can tell you that the faculty and staff have a genuine interest in seeing the students succeed. They give you all the tools and resources you need. It's definitely a challenging program, and it's up to the student to get the most out of the experience. I have not taken the NCLEX yet, though I am confident I will be prepared for it. I believe the NCLEX pass rate percentage is somewhere in the low to mid 90s. Keep in mind that percentage is for people passing the test the first time around. It's my understanding that the few that initially didn't pass eventually passed the NCLEX during subsequent attempts (don't quote me on that). The current JC cohort is a competitive bunch, so I wouldn't be surprised if that percentage goes up. That's pure speculation though.
When you guys do find out and if you're interested, let me know if you would like to purchase some of the my used text books at a discounted price. It's best if you guys wait until the school sends the required textbook list to ensure that they didn't update any books or editions. Based on my experience you probably may get that textbook list around 2nd week of August (you probably would have had your orientation by then as well).
Good luck!
Hi all,
Does anyone know if the school offers financial aid??? I know it may be a little premature because i dont know if i am going to be accepted, but i was just wondering, if accepted how am i gonna paid for that??? sugestions!!!. I called the school (Financial Aid Office) and they said that the school does not make the loans, is up to the students to find the bank and get the loan. I really though it was different.

I bought the study guide today, Im not sure..how difficult this test can be?
Yes, the school offers financial aide.... I asked that last week. they also told me I'm going to probably need student loan... which they offer them as well.
You are able to get stafford loan for this course b/c it's given at a university.

Hello!
I'm looking into the 2012 cohort as well. I actually applied 3 yrs ago, but didn't get in because I missed the HESI score by 2 pts =( ... I used the study guide but found that it was helpful for the mathematical questions, but not for the science portion. I'm going to try again since I retook A&P and Micro, so I'm better prepared.
That's what Im doing, Im going to take A&P @ and statics this January. hopefully, that will help me pass that exam. I bought the book at B&N. For the strangest reason some of math problem solving question, are the same as the question on NJ teaching licensing test, which i took two years ago.
Im trying to find out if, there's any prep course for this exam.. I cant find anything out here.
That sucks if you fail, you dont get a second chance.
