NJCU ABSN 2020

I don't plan on withdrawing. I've worked towards this for the past year! However, I'm more concerned with how it's going to play out and start date. 1. With finances because I haven't secured loans yet (need to contact financial aid) and 2. Because my husband is essential so he's still going to work and I'm homeschooling three kids through remote learning! The thought of doing that and handling my own course load is daunting. I'm determined to figure it out though.

@chemgirl8312 I reached out about start date and the Program Coordinator was copied on the email. As soon as I hear back I will let you know. It may not be delayed at all which is a little bit scary with finances. I don't have kids, but I can imagine that is a very daunting thought.

Agree, I'm in the same boat. My husband is an essential employee in NYC and I am home schooling 2 boys. I have no idea how this will work, but we'll get through it together : )

@beckitoflo Thank you for keeping everyone posted! I know everyone is so busy and working hard to adjust. Do you have any idea when they will have answers for the JC cohort admissions?? Stay healthy and well!

@Tsal I just double checked my email from last year, we received our acceptance letters on May 2nd. So I would try to hang tight (as hard as it is). Hopefully you guys will know by the first week of May.

@beckitoflo thanks so much for letting us ask you questions! I did have a question regarding the online platform... since this program will be challenging and people like me have absolutely no medical experience, are professors holding virtual sessions like they would for their class? Or is it more learn on your own type of thing... readings, papers, online videos...? Just want to know what I am in for. Thanks again!

Can anyone tell me the out-of-state total cost for the program? I see a per semester cost on the NJCU website, but not sure how that translates to the Summer session. Thanks!

@BSSB I believe the year is divided into three equal semesters so I would take the semester tuition and multiply by three.

Did anyone get an email today about Friday's orientation?

I didn't get anything either. I think you can e-mail the bursar office for tuition questions. I live in NJ and I remember them saying about 11k per trimester. But definitely check, that was over a year ago.

Wall Cohort - do you think it would be easier to start a FB page? I know other classes have done that...
