NJ/NY/CT accelerated nursing 2016

Published

Hey my name is Diana and after switching from nursing to nutrition, I have finally decided to go back to nursing. I plan on applying to Rutgers, Tesc and a few more(but Rutgers is my top choice). This thread is to share with others who are applying for 2016.

I guess Ill start my sharing my stats(which aren't the best btw)

GPA-3.4

major-Dietetics

Since I know my gpa isn't the best maybe you guys can share the easier programs to get accepted into in the ny/nj/ct area

Hi Diana - Looks like I am in a similar boat as you (although you look better lol). I just applied to NYU and Pace to start in the Spring.. I'm hopeful but currently still finishing pre-reqs so who knows. My GPA's are 3.2 for my bachelor's and coincidentally I did my master's in Exercise Science and Nutrition 3.6.

I'm not sure how the application process is going and which schools you are choosing but if you are from New Jersey - Jersey City College or University has a nursing program.

Also Concordia which I think you are aware of..

College of New Rochelle

College of Mount Saint Vincent

And I think Mt. Sinai also besides of course NYU, Pace, Columbia, Hunter College, Lehman, Bronx Community College for Associates..

Hope that helps!

Actually after continuing my search Concordia and Rutgers are my top choices. I live in Manhattan but am only looking for accelerated programs. Good luck to you as well!!

you might want to look at hunter college and SUNY downstate, they both have accelerated programs and will have instate tuition for NY residents.

Specializes in Surgical Cardiovascular ICU.

I am currently in the NJCU accelerated program if anyone has any questions. For us technically it is a 10 month program if you include breaks. The jersey city Cohort starts in September and graduates in early August. The wall cohort starts in May and I think they graduate in April.
