Adn Vs Bsn
I really think it depends on the individual. I'm in an ADN program, and I made the choice because of time and cost. It's the quickest route to being an RN, and my school has a bridge program with a couple of universities so I can finish up my BSN once I'm done with my ADN. On the other hand, if this was a few years ago I probably would have chose a traditional 4 year BSN program. I have to get my BSN because where I live you pretty much need it. Have you looked into any accelerated BSN programs?

Underage drinking question? please help
I don't think how a person behaves at a party has much to do with how they behave at work. I don't expect nurses to behave like nuns, especially when they're "off the clock". That's all.

Underage drinking question? please help
If people couldn't become nurses because they did something dumb at 19 then we would have a real nursing shortage.

Concealed Carry for Caregivers
Interesting idea. Possession of drugs shouldn't be a punishable offense. Plotting a murder should be acceptable because laws are in place to punish murder. Possession of child Mediaography should be considered fine, because laws already acknowledge making and distributing.

Concealed Carry for Caregivers
And you didn't comprehend what I wrote, did you? "Things aren't made illegal to make problems disappear". I hate repeating myself, it's tedious! I hate repeating myself, it's tedious!
-
Concealed Carry for Caregivers
Following this logic, we shouldn't have any laws because criminals will "do bad things" anyway. Things aren't made illegal to make problems disappear. Things are illegal so we can punish people.

Is it safe to honk at drivers on cellphones?
I don't know, I think if you're startled or distracted by honking to the point that it may cause an issue for you then you really shouldn't be driving.

Nursing Student Peers Who Want to Mooch
This is something that I've been trying hard to remember/apply: "No." is a complete sentence.

Should Healthcare Professionals Ask About Guns in the Home?
Because if this thread has taught us anything it's that people who own guns are terribly paranoid

Applying to nursing school this year... is a baby a terrible idea?
No, you literally couldn't do that because I'm not telling anyone not to respond to me. It wouldn't make any sense. Adults tend to avoid the "I'm rubber, you're glue..." nonsense. But thank you for your response, it was very thoughtful. OP: I would recommend doing whatever feels right. If you feel you can handle nursing school and a newborn, then go for it. But also make sure you're not having a baby just to have a baby. Sometimes parents can miss having their kids in the baby stage and they mistake that for wanting another. But it's one of those things that only you can know and only you and your husband can decide what's right.

Applying to nursing school this year... is a baby a terrible idea?
I did consider your point of view. I considered it wrong. If you can't handle people disagreeing with you, I would recommend keeping your views to yourself. I didn't assume anything about you, I responded to something you wrote on a public forum. I can respond to whomever I choose. That's the thing about a public forum, it's public. It would benefit you to keep in mind that you shouldn't post things if you don't want people to respond to them.

Applying to nursing school this year... is a baby a terrible idea?
This is astonishingly ignorant. Working mothers are still raising their children, nannies and day cares aren't doing it for them. Based on your post (I would assume you think that because a child needs their mother, they need their father as well?), do you think no parents should work? Children have this weird habit of needing food. Food tends to cost money. Maybe you'll have one of those kids that doesn't need to eat. Good luck.

Am I in nursing for the wrong reasons?
No one said this. As for everything else, no one is going to be perfect on their second day of clinicals. The options aren't "be an excellent nurse on your second day of clinicals or quit". Not to mention, a nurse can do an excellent job and their patient can still be disgruntled. Bad idea to assume that someone isn't doing their job because of the patient's attitude.

Am I in nursing for the wrong reasons?
It's good to be excited about your job, nurse or not. Who said the OP was doing a lousy job? It's their second day of clinicals, so they aren't really anyone's nurse yet. What's wrong with using "disgruntled"?

Typical nursing school schedule?
This semester we have clinicals on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8-12/1, then we have lecture on Thursday from 9-12. Next semester our clinicals are 8-2 and we have 2 days of lecture, I think from 9-12.
