  1. Thanks so much for the reply, but please take your ignorance somewhere else. Thank you for your input Purple roses. I appreciate it.
  2. I just googled some things about getting underage citations in the mail and it has happened to some people.
  3. OK, so first off, I am going into my second semester of my adn program and I am 19 years old. I was at a party last night with my friend and there were about 70-80 people there. A girl made me a drink and I decided to drink it. It was kind of strong but I drank it anyway. There was a lot of marijuana so we decided to leave but our truck was boxed in by other vehicles. I told my friend to drive my truck and he agreed, but out of habit I got in the drivers seat. So we are waiting for some of the cars to leave so we can get out and then the cops show up. One cop came up and said they were going to breathalyze everyone driving and just to sit tight. Then another cop came and asked me what I had to drink and I told him a cup of grape juice with a small amount of vodka a few hours ago. He then told me he was going to breathalyze me and asked what my name was, how old I was, and who my parents were. I didn't see him write anything down, but it was dark so I don't really know what he did. I blew a 0.02 and he told me I could go. He didn't breathalyze my friend. I AM INCREDIBLY PARANOID THAT I AM GOING TO GET AN UNDERAGE DRINKING TICKET IN THE MAIL. I live in Mississippi and this is my first run in with law enforcement beside getting a ticket for running a stop sign. I personally think the officers were more concerned with what was going on inside than with me. I mentioned something about the marijuana to one cop and he just walked inside. My question to anyone who has any knowledge about legal issues is, can I get a ticket in the mail? Keep in mind that I was in my truck with tag number visible ... and if I do how will this affect my status in school and taking my boards? I live in Mississippi. Any input is appreciated, but I really don't need a lecture about this incident. I am a good kid, I never go anywhere or do anything besides study. Thank you all.
  4. ok, so I took the fundamentals HESI today and I made an 833, and our passing grade is supposed to be a 900. I have passed all my unit tests so far, and I don't have a grade below an 80. The reason why I am upset is because multiple people in my class who are actually failing fundamentals and are really struggling passed with really high scores. In my opinion, I think it's unfair how they score the hesi, considering some questions are worth more than others. Like, who decides how many points a question is worth? All of the questions I missed, I had legit rationales to back it up. Almost every question had two answer choices that were correct. I am incredibly discouraged as I feel this is a sign that I may not be cut out for nursing. Does anyone have regarding the comparison of the hesi to the nclex? also, does everyone get the same questions on the hesi? or are they random?
  5. But I thought when a patient was in hyponatremia, their cells swell with water? and to be dehydrated shouldn't the cells be shriveled?
  6. Ok, I am literally so confused right now. I was in clinical a couple of days ago.. My patient had pneumonia, and he had been vomiting a lot. He had low sodium (hyponatremia) and my teacher said he was dehydrated. Now that I think about that, it really confuses me. I learned recently that hyponatremia was when the cells swell and it's caused by over hydration. So how was my patient dehydrated?? I read in my book that hypernatremia occurred when the patient was dehydrated. Can someone please elaborate a little? It would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hello everyone, I am a freshman in college and I'm a nursing major. I've completed my first semester and I received an A in a&P, which is a big deal (according to my adviser). I'm applying to the nursing program after I complete college algebra and a&p 2. My question is about my ACT score, I have a 20 composite which is below the average score of 21. My school works on a point scale, and you only get a 2 points for having a 20 on the ACT. I have taken it again and I got another 20. I'm really concerned that my score will hinder my admission to the program. I asked my adviser if I had a chance of getting in with a 20, and she told me a few people with 19's got in last time. I was just curious about what everyone else had on their act.... or if y'all think I have a chance of getting in. Also, I plan on having A's in a&p 2 and college algebra, even if it kills me.
