I just heard on the news MS Pham is being transferred to the NIH, I hope her health is not getting worse! I hope this is because Texas is not prepared to handle her care, Prayers and thoughts her way!
CNN reports that Texas Health Presbyterian is now short staffed because as many as 70 staff members are in self imposed quarantine. They are also preparing for the potential of more people becoming positive for Ebola Virus. Plus, people in the community are too afraid to seek treatment there, for fear that they will contract Ebola once admitted. Not to mention the threat of walk out by nurses who claim they are working in unsafe conditions. Sounds like a nightmare for that hospital, and I won't be surprised if some higher ups lose their jobs. I applaud the move, and pray for a full recovery for Nina Pham.
Sweet travel nursing gig, anyone?
Per Huffington Post: video of Nina Pham just before her transfer to Maryland. She looks ok. Hospital Releases Video Of Ebola Patient Nina Pham.

Yes, this post is directly in line with what I am getting from friends close to the situation. Thank you for sharing this as I had some reservations about posting this information.
Having worked at the NIH's Clinical Center, I am surprised that the transfer did not happen earlier.
It is a much more private and secure location for a high risk pt. The NIH has the ability to get access to a lot more standard, research and experimental treatments, and generally staffs better than the average facility.
