Is it possible to be hired on into a daytime shift or is that nearly

impossible?? I am NOT a good night person!!!! I get burned out very easily

on nights but its not from work, it is from not seeing my daughter and husband and

spending quality time with them.

I worked on a night shift for 2 months be for quitting, but going in at 6 and gettin off at 6

and gettin home just in time to say by to my husband and dgt who were going to

work and daycare was not fun and waking up around 2 just in time to start getting

work stuff together and my husband and dgt getting home about 30 mins before i had to

leave for work is not fun.

So is it possible at all or if i specifically request day shift does it put me at a lesat likely

chance of obtaining a job.

any thoughts?

I'm not trying to be rude, but usually seniority rules...and you have none. Sorry.

I would concur with others. Dictating what shift you will and will not work is not going to go in your favor. Having little or no nursing experience is not going to help your case either.

I have worked 25 years of the past 34 on night shift. My DH & I learned to make the most of our time. I didn't always love it.Sometimes it was a downright PITA. There were seasons where I worked only part-time or only weekends. Sometimes I worked 12s and sometimes I worked a bunch of 4s and 8s. None of those shifts were ideal, but I got paid every 2 weeks, ya know? I made a point to be "present" with my family when I wasn't at work. I rarely had to miss an event, although we have been known to celebrate Thanksgiving. Valentine's Day or birthdays on an alternate day.

You're the only one who knows how bad you need the job. Personally, I found that when the kids were little it was easier to work nights because they were all sleeping at night anyway. When they were under age 10 I worked mostly part-time1-2 nights a week and that helped me alot. Maybe that would be an option for you.
